I'm not sure why the upper deck gets such a bad rap by some around here?? I have sat in the lowers, many times, and it's a lot more cramped. Not nearly the same amount of leg room as upstairs, and even though you are up higher, the view(IMO) is better in a lot of cases. Alot of things are blocked if you sit downstairs in the corners, or certainly behind the basket. Upstairs, in some cases there are corners of the court that are locked or whatever but it's lessened by being higher up.

Just my opinion.

I hope that my earlier comment wasn't misconstrued as being disparaging to the upper deck.

I don't speak for everyone, but personally I would prefer to be in the lower bowl, but there are seats in the upper bowl that I do consider a superior value to some lowers.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

It's personal preference of why you go to games.  I sat in the upper deck for a few games many years ago.  I did not like the experience.  It felt like you were removed from the game, the crowd, the noise of it all.   Feels like you're listening to the crowd instead of being a part of it.

To each his own.

Right now I'm eying up a few Row F seats in the $275 upper bowl corners. Has anyone sat there? In the past, I noticed that there were some railings that may obstruct the view, and some of the seats I was looking at were listed as obstructed view due to that, but some seats that are still open are not listed as such.

Basically, are all of the Row F seats obstructed, or just a select few?

As a person that has had season tickets in the lower bowl now in the upper deck, people don't cheer as hard in the upper deck. They might feel that they are to far away for people to hear them.  :-\

What section are you looking at in the corners?

Obstructed seats are marked on the reseating site, though it's not super obvious. When you mouse over a seat, on the right most of them will say "Seatbacks." When you mouse over an obstructed seat, it will say obstructed in this spot.

Definitely have to be careful in the lower rows of the $275 seats. There are a lot of railings and glass panes that could block your view.

You apparently don't sit anywhere near my section.  There's no amount of distance between me and the floor that prevents me from reminding Jim Burr how bad he is at his job, or proclaiming how much I love Jimmy F'in Butler.

425 and 441, right now.
If you are looking at row F, my guess would be the rails wouldn't be a problem.

Agreed, I sat in 403 Row F the last two years and the only issue was if I sat back all the way the railing obstructed my view of the court slightly.  I don't lean back much during games so this was not an issue.

I saw that, just wanted to make sure :)

Thanks for the commentary. I was thinking I'd be okay, but wanted to hear it from people who might have experience. Bocephys, those seats sound almost identical to the ones I'm looking at. Now I just have to hope they hold up for another few hours.

Spotcheck Billy

some of us fans can't manage season tickets but are always willing to pick up some of the games from people with them that can't make it to every game

I split season tickets last season with some one from out of town that couldn't make it to town all the time

Right .. like .. how often do people in the upper deck stand up during a pivotal moment in the game?     Ever?

I'm sure it depends on the section, but our section did. At least a few of us joined in on the chants and songs too. It might not be the same as the lower bowl, but in the right section, it can still be enjoyable.

Yea, my section was pretty good too, but that may be because I was near the front and constantly standing during big moments, so the people behind me had no choice.  I would love to move to the lower bowl, but it just doesn't seem worth it to sit in the end zone or corners.  I can move up 20 feet to the upper deck from the high lower corners and save $1,000.

brewcity77

That was my thought. It seems like there are really only a few good value sections. The $275 corners are pretty decent for the view, then the middle lowers (once you have enough points to get into the first few rows of 400 or 422), then going all out down below. I was pretty satisfied with 425 Row M last year, and if I can get down to F this year, I imagine I'll be overjoyed.

Redacted...this heat is making me cranky and I really don't want to derail the thread with a 'which fans are better/worse' pissing match.

Mr. Nielsen

Really? I think everone today is being nice and freindly on this topic about picking seats. The heat must be getting to you. Hand in there! ;)

I stopped standing when I got out of the student section. I stopped showing up early when I got out of the student section. I'm overlooking the fact I cant afford lower bowl seats. Now I had great upper level seats, first row, corner. Hopefully I can find some decent upper level seats w/ my crew

bobnoxious

I dont pick until tomorrow night and have been in 409 the 4 years that I have had season tickets.  The seats Ive had since the last reseating are already gone.  Dont really feel like sitting any higher so I guess I will be looking at those corner sections now.

brewcity77

The seats I was looking at in 441 were selected less than an hour before my slot came up. I got the identical seats in 425, so it's okay. I'd rather have been closer to the student section, but I still moved up 5 rows and got into a 4-seat half-row which will make things easier for bathrooms, and I don't have to worry about anyone walking past me.

One question...how do you handle payment? I expected to be able to check out, but that doesn't seem to be there. Will they call for payment, or is there somewhere I can go to finalize my seats?

bobnoxious

They should send you an electronic invoice due around the end of July or the option to pay on the installment plan

LOL Oh the irony. I was looking at EXACTLY the same sections and seats you were. Now I know who took the 425 ones.  ;) I was a bit disappointed like you that the 441 Row F's were gone, but I like being on the aisle anyway(even if that was only a 4 seat row) so I went with 441 Row H. Was in 428 Row D last year. Don't really like being much higher than 4 rows up, but....these are closer to center court than 428, so I can live with it. :)

Haha, 441 Row H 1-2 were my backup seats if I didn't get the 425 Row Fs I was looking at ;D
