I believe the NCAA allows for one home, one road and two alternate jersey's.  Thus, 4 is the maximum.

Then how do you explain Oregon?  Or is this just a basketball rule?

I don't know if any of you saw Maryland's new football unis last night, but they are wild

http://www.sportsgrid.com/ncaa-football/maryland-uniforms-against-miami-photos/

They have something like 36 different combinations they can wear...

The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

Those helmets are mega-bad-ass.

also, I would gladly do away with "Cura Personalis" on the backs of our jerseys... It's a good motto, but no one associates the motto with MU unless they went there.

You guys have too much time on your hands. Unemployed again?

Step 1.  Create account defending  yourself on the Internet.
Step 2.  Randomly insult people that donate gobs of money to the athletic department you work for
Step 3.  ???

Good to see the Underwear Gnomes have found employment else where!

Not that it matters, but I believe the circle is intended to bridge the beginning (1881) to the present (MU logo) in MU history.  The circle may be a basketball or possibly it is meant to signify the "circle of life".  Perhaps both.

Perosnally, I'd like to see the Cura Personalis dropped all together and the circle area moved down and changed to the seal.

What's wrong with referring to yourself in the third person?  Benny does it all the time.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

I have never once heard of this rule.

marquette20

The design is good besides "Cura Personalis"
For one, that motto isnt even on the seal of marquette
"We are Marquette" would have been the better motto since that is more basketball related.

Or, for BBall, G.T.S.T.

All 4 jersey's next to eachother: http://yfrog.com/h36rntvj

Interesting.  It may be the lighting, but the graphics are much harder to see on the gold jersey than they are on the baby blue.

I like the jerseys, though.  I'm looking forward to see how well they fit :)

Better than they look.

Aughnanure

The circle just seems really unnecessary, and it would've nicer to see Marquette Hall a bit bigger...seems kinda skinny and not well designed for something like this, esp since that is the #1 image MU wants to be associated with the school.

I wouldve appreciated just the Al and Marquette Hall on the back, and nothing else. Simpler is better for something like this design-wise.
“All men dream; but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act out their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.” - T.E. Lawrence

That's the point. These jersey's are supposed to represent Marquette and be something for the team. Like when Pitt designed their back - they made sure to include "The Oakland Zoo" b/c they feel the students are part of the team. Unless you're a hard core fan, you wouldn't know that.
But I like to throw handfuls...

Fair point, but I also hate the motto.

I asked on twitter and it looks like we will find out the baby blue font tomorrow.

brewcity77

I'm fine with the new jerseys. In general I don't like the under-images, but at least they don't have something dumb like the "Go Zags" on Gonzaga's shirts. The fronts look good and we'll still have the best looking unis in college sports.

I believe I erred.  I read it awhile back about MU and was thinking it was the NCAA Rule.  I checked the NCAA Rules and they are silent to the number of uniforms.

I know there is one designated home and one designated road uniform.  The others are considered alternates.  Sorry for the error.

77ncaachamps

I'm miffed that Al isn't prominently shown. Is it a licensing thing? If you took off Blue's #, would you see a faceless Al or the face we've associated with warriors and blue and gold love?
SS Marquette

GGGG

We have his name on the front, the court and the practice facility. That isn't enough?

MUMac

The Facebook Page "Marquette Golden Eagles - Official Site" has some interesting comments about the uniform.  Terry Sanders even chimes in.  It appears there is either love or hate for the design.  Nothing in between.
