I could care less if we integrated black unis for a game or two. But it certainly wouldn't be embarrassing.

I like the wave at the bottom of the shorts actually. The font wouldn't be my first choice but as long as they keep the stripes on the side, I'm confident they will still be some of the best unis in the nation. I like that they cleaned them up a bit. But who knows if these are even what our new ones will look like.

For what it's worth, the font for the numbers and name are exactly the same as the font on Cal and Arizona jerseys on the website.

While I'm not a fan of black jerseys, I wouldn't be embarassed if they wore them.  Why would you be embarassed?
Agree.  the Black uniforms will be perceived well by young recruits

I'm pretty sure that you will see the same "Marquette" wordmark lettering from the current jerseys on whatever we end up with next year.  I think Sultan's right when he says this is just a template for people to design stuff off of.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

Why would you think we would see the same "Marquette" wordmark?  They aren't going to take over the uniform design just to re-use the same design left over from before.  They are going to put their own touches to it.

What if they are making that wordmark part of the brand?  Soccer and volleyball have the same word mark on their jerseys.

They have put their own touches on it.  They changed it to the system of dress style, removed the colored shoulders, and changed the shorts up.

I think the fonts are just a place holder for the template (especially because Arizona and Cal have the same fonts on that site) so I think the wordmark is still very much a possiblity.

Not a fan.  Reminds me too much of the Cal uniforms a while back (I think it's the style as well as the font they decided to use).  I mean that's just my initial reaction.  Can I get around to getting used to these?  Sure.  I just think that Nike took a template, and mixed the styles we currently wear with the ones we wore when DJ, McNeal, Wesley were freshman.  I'm no fashion designer, but they could do better.

Other sports have that same word mark most likely because they have the same jersey designers.  It really isn't a "brand."  For instance, you won't see that wordmark anywhere on the MU web-site.

Could be mistaken here, but that "Marquette" wordmark is a brand of Marquette University athletics.  It's on pretty much all of the varsity sports jerseys.

I do agree with Titan and think that it's just a place holder for something more 'Marquette-specific' rather than a stock font Nike decides to use.

Exactly.  I remember when MU rolled out the wordmark they called it part of their brand, like the block MU that will probably be used at the bottom of the shorts.

The NikeID site say these uniforms are System of Dress.  Don't all of these jerseys have the back pattern?

What would you guys like to see in the back pattern if we have it?  Marquette Hall?  1977 Trophy?  1977 Team Picture haha?

Marquette Hall probably.  Would make the most sense don't you think considering that it's on almost everything academic related.  I do believe that if they do that sweat-back-pattern, it will be a combination of Marquette Hall, AL, and other iconic symbols that make Marquette unique.

That would be awesome! Think they could get away with it by claiming it's simply a nod to Marquette's rich basketball history?  :)

The wave on the shorts has to go.  They are just so out of place. Other than that these aren't the trainwreck i expected them to be.

That Injun was sweet.  Perhaps offensive, but a real crowd pleaser!

Not sure if this is sarcasm or not, but MU is ULTRA protective of the seal. I tried to use it on a yearbook for a program I was part of, and it was flatly denied.

Can someone make a Wisconsin Red Marquette Jersey? I wonder what that'll look like...such a mindnumbing sight to see I bet!

Why would you even contemplate making such a jersey? I for one would never want to see anything Marquette on badger red.  You must be a badger fan in disguise.
