I'm thinking Marquette Hall is definately on top, but I'm sure there is more below it.

If by System Of Dress, you're referring to the more form fitting jerseys, then I can tell you I asked the athletic department Twitter masterminds about that and they confirmed that the jerseys are form fitting.

They look pretty baggy still to me.  I guess it's hard to tell unless the player is wearing it.

Thanks for info though.  I think I prefer the form fitting jerseys so now I like them even more.

The other schools with imagery on the back of the jerseys haven't used specific in depth artwork of buildings. Sure MU Hall looks ok on campus, I guess, but I don't associate it with the basketball team.

What kind of stuff would influence the design? Al? Architecture on campus is lacking. Help us all if there is anything related to an actual eagle.

I was thinking they used part of this logo.

I think it would have been cool if they had used the seal of the university.

Actually the Kentucky one has a building exactly in the same place.  With the "peaks" on top of whatever that image is, it looks very much like it could be some variation of the University logo.  I don't think you will see anything like an eagle on these things.  My guess is that the MU logo will be below the number.

Duke's is clearly based upon a building on their campus.  I think it's Marquette Hall (at least in part) for two reasons:  1) MU really pimps that image even if it is not necessarily generally associated with the basketball team; and 2) that's what the enlarged photo really looks like to me (I think you can even make out three of the spires).  I might be wrong; we'll see.

The designs other schools use have varied.  As I said, Duke's is based on a chapel on campus.  Gonzaga's is just a silly graphic.  Kentucky's appears to be a combination of a wildcat, retired numbers and some other stuff.

Good point.  Here's an enlarged look at Kentucky's.  Definitely a building at the top, and definitely has a logo slapped right on top of it.

I guess I agree with everyone else; it definitely appears like we'll have Marquette Hall, and I'm fine with that. What I don't get is why they wouldn't adjust the design by an inch so that the peak of the building doesn't get covered by the logo. But I'm not paid to make these decisions.

Side note: If anybody wants to pay me to make these decisions, I'm available.

It looks like the building on Kentucky's uni is Memorial hall

And here is the Duke University Chapel

When I mentioned my concern for an eagle, I was looking at the Kentucky uni and how the design morphs into a cat at the bottom.

From texaswarrior's link from the last page:

"Duke was one of the first schools that rolled out aerographics. We took a historic building on campus, and had to get involved with the administration to make sure we could use it. Some people were really mad about it, saying, “Hey, that’s a church, what are you doing using that on a uniform?” So we had to be very direct in saying that we don’t commercialize that exact image, and it’s not going to be sold. When you get past that, the coaches and athletic directors came back to us and said, “You really captured the soul of the school on our back. It’s great.”

Definitely going to be Marquette Hall. A reference to 77 and Al, then hopefully nothing else.

That would be pretty awesome in theory, I wonder if it could be pulled off without looking dumb though.

The IWB is hinting on Hoops what is on the back

Well, Strotman is right, and Reptile will get his wish. I'll tell you what, I'll give you a hint. The answer can be found on the front of the jersey.

Ugh...I mean, I love Al.  I like the "AL" on the front.  The Al McGuire court.  The Al McGuire Center.

But please don't tell me we are going to have a big ole bust of Al on the back of our jerseys too.

Seashells and balloons, maybe?

I agree...to a point.  I would have the exact same reaction ("ugh") if the back of the jersey was just a "big ole bust of Al."  Many of the jerseys that are using this technique have a bit of a collage feel to them.  If the jersey is going to have multiple images (and I'm still guessing that Marquette Hall will be the dominant image), I wouldn't object to the Al image being incorporated.  If it's the dominant image...ugh.

Has to be Marquette Hall.  The answer is on the front of the jersey...Marquette.  Al is also on the front, so something with Al will probably be in there as well.
