I saw him tweeting he is going home right now. Is he still enrolled as a student or is he just going home for the All Star game events. I am only wondering because I heard Marshon Brooks, a good friend of Jimmy's, left school altogether after the season was over. Just curious

I believe it's only for the All-Star game. He did have enough credits to graduate in the winter, though, so I'm sure he isn't that worried about missing a few classes.

Yes, I can't remember where I heard it (maybe a Buzz interview), but I recall that Butler was only take one or two classes this semester.  Similar to Matthews, and James (?) second semesters of their senior years.  Gives them lots of extra time to spend at the gym.

I know why he left, I think its risky tho. Turn down a college degree for the NBA which could end in an injury or any number of negative things happening. Poor decision with only 2 months left in the year. Good to hear that our players don't do that. Shows the care that our coaches have for them

Careful what you say.  Not all MU players graduate, and possibly one left recently to do exactly this.  Shouldn't judge these players IMHO, they have a once in a lifetime shot at the NBA Draft, and workouts could potentially cost you millions of dollars.  A Spanish or World History class will always be there down the road if you want to get the degree.

You can always return to college to finish up your degree requirements.
You only get one chance to boost your pre-draft stock, which could be the difference between a guaranteed, multimillion dollar NBA contract or a couple of seasons in Turkey.

I think it's ok to say Lazar hasn't graduated.  Like MUFan12 pointed out, it's in the media guide haha.

I agree though.  I have no problems with a giy leaving to focus on the draft once the season ends.  If this is what Lazar did, it definately worked out for him moving into the first round of the draft.

He can always return in the summers if he wants to finish up his degree.

The fella's need to do whatever is needed to advance their ball careers post college. If they are close to graduating those classes will still be there down the road. I had Doc in plenty of summer school classes after he went pro. I hope Jimmy hits it big.

All teal aside, I think it's hilarious that Buzz refers to opponents as "Number 12" (or whatever) in post game press conferences.  I mean, I'm sure he does this to be clear with the players, and it's really all he focuses on when breaking down the game.  But still amusing....

A semester's worth of classes can be made up pretty easily, likely during the summer/offseason.  Especially if he only was taking 2 or 3 classes.

Sheesh, you guys act like missing a day of classes means your automatically flunking? Many students miss Friday classes due to straight up being HUNGOVER...a lot of people dont even have classes on Fridays, and if he only had 2 classes this is possible to maneuver...How about all the time they miss with travel too?

Missing a class does not equate to quitting school or flunking, sheesh
