Saw Singleton on my way to class today... I know there are mixed opinions of what his role will be.

Is there too much talent on the roster for him to make an impact or will he get more minutes than newcomers like Derrick Wilson and Todd Mayo?
Warrior in the class of 2011.

This is a complete guess but I'd assume he'd get a lot more than Frozena but less than the incoming scholarship guys.

I'd say, despite being leaps and bounds better than Frozena, his Big East minutes are about the same. He might get 5 minutes in a blowout cupcake, compared to 2 for Frozena, but I don't see Buzz using that precious time for a walk-on when he can use it to help develop his scholarship players.

And, it will still be the same number of scholarship guys ahead of him on the depth chart.

I think the unseen bonus will be the inclusion of one more really good, Division 1 caliber player to match up against in practice for our scholarship guys.

Injuries could also change all of that, of course. The depth is nice.

From Rosiak's Live Blog a month or so ago:
QuoteQ: T-Bone, Chicago - In the recent posting regarding MU being uninterested in Lucious, you specifically made mention of Dave Singleton. Is there something that you have seen from him that indicates he may get some time next year at the point spelling Cadougan (assuming D. Wilson is unable to contribute immediately as a freshman)?
A: Todd Rosiak - At this point, Singleton is another player in the mix. Will he see time? Depends on how good Wilson is, and whether MU adds another player who's capable of playing the point. I think Cadougan is clearly the starter going into next year based on his improvement. Singleton put up some OK numbers in two years at High Point, but as we all know, it's a huge leap to the Big East. He has the athleticism and skills you don't normally see in a walk-on. My guess right now is he'll be insurance, and maybe see spot minutes here and there.
I'm like a turtle, sometimes I get run over by a semi.

Mr. Nielsen

I saw Dave play in the summer pro-am, he has game.
If we are all thinking alike, we're not thinking at all. It's OK to disagree. Just don't be disagreeable.

OK, Rosiak mentioned two years at High Point.  Does that mean that he only has two years of eligibility left?  I thought it was three.  (Assuming he used his red-shirt this year.)

Didn't Wes say in an interview that he was most impressive with Singleton in the Pro-Am?  That could mean a lot of things, but a good complement nonetheless.

Does anyone think that Buzz should be extremely picky with his last scholarship this year, and maybe give Dave a one year scholarship (with a crystal-clear understanding that he will be a walk-on next year again).

These transfers might present some opportunities, but there may be more talent in 2012 with two scholarships.  It seems like Buzz used up a lot of time on Shaw, Harrison, and that guard from Maryland.  We'll see what comes this spring, but I would not be mad if Buzz banked one.

The one problem with that is you eliminate mid year transfer's.

That was actually Reggie who he was most impressed with. At least that's what he said at the Pro-Am to his dad or uncle. Whoever i was sitting by  ?-(
