Green Bay is now confirmed for Saturday, Dec. 10

IF THE GREEN BAY PRESS GAZETTE REPORTS IT, IT'S CONFIRMED DAMNIT!

The Big Ten Football Championship Game is December 3. So if the Badgers are in it, possibly some more MU fans at the Kohl Center.  Guess I'll cheer for the Badgers this year for football.

Was planning to try to get tickets for this anyway. I must admit, that could make things more interesting and tickets more available. Never thought I'd be cheering for the Badgers to win in any sport, even football ;D

I really wonder if the Vandy game will be sometime in the middle of conference play, like the Wake game in 03.

Some years, BE play starts on the 28th/29th of December. I can't imagine they would squeeze a marquee non-conference game in between Christmas and then.

Pretty sure Big East play starts Dec. 31 this year. I'd all but guarantee Vandy will be Dec. 27 or 28.

I don't really like that either. While those dates make sense...here's the one reason why they may schedule the game in mid-January or February. The school often gives the team about a week off for Christmas. With Big East play starting December 31, I can't imagine the team not having a couple days off before league play starts. That's why I like the 27-28 dates as possibilities. But if it's those dates, the team only gets 4-5 days off for Christmas. Here's a look at the number of days the team has had off since we joined the Big East:

2010-11: 7 days
2009-10: 7 days
2008-09: 5 days
2007-08: 7 days
2006-07: 7 days
2005-06: 5 days

So either they play on Dec. 27 and only give the players 4 days off for the holiday, play on Dec. 28 and give them 5 days off (matching the lowest in 6 years), or they play a rare non-conference game on a Thursday at the BC (don't know why, we just don't seem to play OOC games on Thursdays) and play on Dec. 29, leaving only one day to rest up for the start of Big East play.

I'd guess Dec. 28, but the next most likely option might be pushing it to the new year. Of course, by this time tomorrow, we'll all probably know.

Ya, it sucks.
Last season, MU played in the final week in December at Vandy. That place was loud, it's on us to make the Bradley Center loud. It's fair both ways.
It sounds like the Vandy game will be in both 5 game mini plans. So, the ticket office is pushing this game.

I'm willing to bet it will be Dec. 27 or Dec. 28, we will all find out tomorrow.

Well if MU disappoints in the opener, at least we won't hear boos then.

I wonder if MU will open Big East play at home? Vandy the 29th and a Big East game the 31st!

I'd much rather a game on the 31st than a game at 1pm on the 1st like the last couple years.  Those day games on New Year's Day are brutal :(

New Year's Day falls on a Sunday, don't see to much of any college basketball that day. (NFL Sunday)

Jan. 2 at night could be an opening for a Big East game on ESPN. There is no bowl game after the Rose Bowl this year. So ESPN/ESPN2 looks to be open.

Bucks have one Saturday night home game in January, and two in February. Hoping the BE gives us a couple more Saturday night home games this season. Gives people a chance to come in from out of town, and gives the locals some time for pregame libations.

Nothing beats a saturday night game. PERIOD

Wow! I didn't look that far down the road, since we don't have dates for the Big East games. I'm sure the MU ticket office is hoping for alot of Saturday games. It's been pretty bad the last two season.

There probably won't be an NBA season anyway, so the Big East should give us every Saturday night at home and make the Bucks schedule around them.  Obviously won't happen, but that'd be awesome.

Louisville Georgetown and Pitt all on Saturday evenings would be an awesome early Christmas present
