You are missing Vanderbilt, as well.

Mr. Nielsen

It looks like the Bears of Northern Colorado are coming to the Bradley Cemter this season.

The Bears went to the NCAA tournament last season and lost to San Diego State in the Opening Round. RPI was #100 last season.

Scheduled is much better without the South Vagina Universities comin' in as sacrificial lambs.

If MU is playing Washington in the Jimmy V Classic, the other match-up is Mizzou and Villanova.

Better to use the official NCAA RPI rankings. To find them for any given year, just google "NCAA RPI 20XX web1" and it should come up as the first option. Make sure you pick the basketball one, as well.

Wisconsin-16
Vanderbilt- 26
Washington-30
Milwaukee-94
Northern Colorado-98
Florida Atlantic-115
Green Bay-168
Winthrop-220
LSU-224
Mount St. Mary's-230
Norfolk State-269

Drexel-77
Mississippi-85
Virginia-138
TCU-209
Drake-213

Not a big difference, but it's been a handy reference for me when looking up RPI when you want to be sure you're accurate :)

I think we may already have known this, but MU officially is not part of the Big East-SEC Challenge this year. Nova, ND and South Florida join them on the sidelines this year.

They are having 4 games each day. Thursday thru Saturday, Dec.1 thru 3rd.
That's great having games on a Friday, which most schools don't play on Friday's.
Two of them are sexy match-ups. Florida at Syracuse and Vandy at L'ville.

So, if we are apart of the Jimmy V with Washington.....is there a chance we play Mizzou as well? I know its not a tourney format but Cuse played 2 games last year so could we? Or are we booked?

The article may say that, but Syracuse didn't play Memphis in 2010-11. Not in the Jimmy V Classic or anywhere else.

Why did you just not look up who the Orange played in 2010-11.

They've been horrible for the past two years. After being named SEC Coach of the Year and making the NCAA Tourney in 2009, Trent Johnson lost five of his top seven scorers (all seniors in 2009) from the Tigers, and then lost the other two in 2010 (Tasmin Mitchell graduated, Bo Spencer transferred).

After seeing most of John Brady's guys go away, Johnson has made the most of his past two recruiting classes, adding four top-100 players including McDonald's All-American Johnny O'Bryant, who joins the Tigers next year. While they've certainly been awful, LSU is in a great position to rebuild in a hurry, and my guess is if they aren't back in the NCAAs in 2012, they certainly will be in 2013.

because I am not a syracuse fan? The article said Cuse played both those teams, So I asked if it was possible we could. I had no reason not to believe the article.

It literally took me less than a minute to look it up on my phone and confirm with a second source. You don't have to be a 'Cuse fan to use Google.

MU looking for H/H to start in Milwaukee versus a high major or a guarantee game vs. a top 100 RPI team.
http://bti.sportshd.com/mens_schedule_board?tid_1=All&tid_2=1&university=Marquette+University

My guess the Florida Atlantic game went to WVU.

Interesting that they are open to another home/home given what they already have set up.  Can you actually get a guarantee game with a top 100?

77ncaachamps

I hope that last BE home game is Notre Dame.

I'd hate to lose one in South Bend and never see them again (save the BE Tourney).

Too bad, I was really looking forward to FAU. Looking at that site, here are a few teams that have offers that might match our needs:

Home-and-Homes

  • Dayton: Not quite high-major, but a consistent A-10 power looking to start a H&H on the road in 2011-12
  • Michigan: The Wolverines are looking for two H&Hs, one to start in Ann Arbor (we could take the other), open dates Dec. 3-4 and 17-18
  • New Mexico State: Similar to Dayton, not quite high-major, but a consistent top 100 looking for a H&H starting away next year
  • Texas A&M: Only open date is Dec. 17-18, but looking for a H&H with a high-major
  • Xavier: Another A-10 quality opponent, willing to start on the road
  • Stanford: They want an East Coast opponent, prefer to start at home but would consider a road start, do we quality as a Big East team?
Guarantee Games

  • North Florida: Willing to go on the road, have steadily improved their RPI and should be top-150 next year; have played here before
  • James Madison: Top-125 two of past three years, return 7 of top 8 scorers (but lose leading scorer), 90 RPI last year, willing to play at a BCS opponent
Personally, my first pick of all of them would be North Florida as I think they're the best bet to make the tourney as a buy game. James Madison would be a close second. We have enough home-and-homes slated, but Dayton or Xavier might be nice opponents. Not sure we need to go after a Michigan or TAMU, personally, though TAMU would be a nice homecoming game for Otule.
