Pitt loses, so if UW wins they get to play Butler.....so tired of this garbage.

UW might have a harder time against Butler than Pitt.

Butler has earned the right to play KSU or UW. They just beat the #1 seed.

That's a big if. When's the last time they beat a single-seed in the Dance? Doubt they'll have to worry about Pitt or Butler.

Pretty much "clear" sailing til the Final Four.

But I think Florida's gonna knock them off in the E8.

Of course they can't miss a fricking three when Taylor is cold.

I hate everything about Madison. This year especially.

They're a very good team.  They're fundamentally sound and that's why they are one of the better programs in the country.  They have a good shot to go to the Final Four now.

But hey, they are slow and they don't look pretty so that's all that matters to some.

So F'n sick and tired of their loudmouth blowhard fans getting to continually boast about how deep they went in the tourney. they are going to the Elite 8, and they will be proud of it even though they only had to beat Butler to do it. It's sh*t like this that really ruins 3 great days of the NCAA tourney for me. I want them to lose so badly and then when they win and get really F'n lucky with a draw in the process, it just stings so much more.

They just beat a decent K-State team...it's not like they were a push over.

I would be pumped about an elite 8 appearrance as well, who cares who they beat.  I would take an elite 8 right now, even it meant the three wins were Centenary, UALR, and IUPUI.

Maybe but they f'n get Butler next round. That's what I mean. Stop and think about that....Butler. No stopping them from going to the Elite 8, because their F'n bracket breaks open, and we will have to listen to their f'n mouths all damn off season.

Nothing to brag about if you don't win the tourny. A deep run that ends with a loss dosen't mean sh!t if you don't win the whole thing.

Maybe we should try beating them at home...that way they get a worse seed.  Maybe we need to win a few more games ourselves to get a better seed and better road.

Sure, they get Butler but they got their 4 seed by being a very solid team this year.  That's the key, THEY EARNED THEIR SEED.  Honestly, I think they would have given Pitt fits.

It's perfect.  They'll get bounced by another mid-major, a la Cornell and Davidson.  Taylor will get outplayed by Shelvin Mack.  Hopefully, that will keep the Jordan Taylor-as-an-NBA-point-guard chatter to a minimum on this board.

They won, it's not their fault that Pitt didn't hold up their end of the bargain. Yes, UW has gotten lucky recently, but they've had some bad luck with injuries as well.

Wisconsin gets "lucky" because they're a consistently strong basketball team. I'm not a Badger slurper like some on here, but you have to give them credit. As obnoxious as their fans are and as ugly as their brand of basketball is, they typically win the games they're supposed to win.

Why is this a problem? They're doing what they have to do.

As for "getting" to play Butler, they were the national runners up last year, and they just (deservedly) KO'd the Big East regular season champions/#1 seed.

No such thing as an "easy out" after the first weekend.

Tip of the cap to UW for another Sweet Sixteen. Let's hope we can keep up.

By "lucky" I meant in some of their draws in past years. They're a good, solid, fundamentally sound basketball team. They're boring, but they win, and in the end that's all that matters.

I was actually agreeing with you. The "lucky" reference was aimed at the thread's title. Sorry about that.
