Committe said, sure we'll put 11 in, but you're all gonna cancel eachother out.

The only 2 BEast teams in the other region would play in the 2nd round too so you might not be too far off.

Road game. Gonna have to do it hard way.
Over a four-hour drive from Cincinnati. Five and a half from Chicago, six and a half from Milwaukee...just saying.

What are the differences between this years XU team and last years that we beat?  Key losses? Additions?

They don't have Crawford, but Holloway is much better then he was last season.

Holloway is an animal but they dont have that other stud
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

#MUBB

I think we got screwed. IN OHIO? Penn st, Michigan, Georgia all better seeds....

Wasn't it that Love guy?

Xavier wouldn't be a horrible matchup if it was on a neutral court, but this is basically a home game for them.

Guys, Cleveland is about as far away as it possibly could be from Cincinnati while still being in the state of Ohio. It won't be that big of a deal.

X is very beatable. Sucks bigtime that a 6 seed gets a home game.
How did TN and Mich get higher than us?
Oh well bring it on!!

Duke looming in the 2nd round there....

Butt Johnson

Cleveland is 5 hours away from Cinci, almost equidistant from chicago. Less of an advantage than one would think.

I would say 1/5 or so of the currently enrolled students are from Ohio, or close to Ohio. The game is during spring break, hopefully we can get a lot of students to go from home!

Xavier is tiny

IAmMarquette

Only 4 BE teams in the region: Nova, Cuse, WV, Marquette

Yes, thank you.

mu_hilltopper

Good point .. Cleveland is a 4 hour drive from Cincy.    But .. One would imagine there are Xavier fans all over Ohio.

On the other hand, that's almost like Marquette fans driving to Minneapolis (5 hours) for a MU game.  We all know how that turned out (although it was the 2nd weekend..)

How did we get screwed?  We're the 11th team from our conference to get in and based on the seeding, probably needed to win at least one if not both Big East games we did just to get into the darn thing.  If you don't want to get screwed, finish in the top 5 or 6 in the conference.

There are likely more Xavier grads than MU grads in Cleveland though.

MUMac

Probably similar to MU playing in Superior.  Xavier is not a big draw for the state of Ohio.  They will get some people pulling for them because they are from Ohio, but not that many.  Nor that vocal.

Markusquette

Did they show MU video on the screen during the pick?  Of course I only missed the East region...

I've never seem someone trying harder to pick a fight on a day when his bubble team got in.

EDIT: Restated

Norm

I don't think playing Xavier in Cleveland will be worse than playing Pitt in Pittsburgh, UConn in Hartford, Louisville in Louisville, Notre Dame in South Bend, etc... (we were in every one of those games)
