Some may jump on me for throwing out the race card but...

I do think that racial stereotypes have a lot to do with some people's perceptions of both UW and MU's programs.  People see a roster with a lot of clean cut looking white kids and tend to assume that they are less talented, less athletic, overachievers.  People assume that Butch, Krabenhoft, Leur, and Bohannon fit that category, even though they were 4 or 5 star recruits.  I think some of us are guilty of this.

Conversely, I have heard the terms "streetballers" and "cocky thugs" thrown around by Badger fans in the past about MU's teams, with no real evidence to back up those claims.  Now I wonder what would make someone assume that about MU's bball team?

I look at it differently than that.  I think they are a fine team, but it is clear that some kids don't want to play there....for some reason.  I wonder why that is.   ::)  I wonder why kids from Madison leave in droves to get out of that city.  Yes, I wonder.

There is also this image.  As one of the elite sports schools in the country.

Only Florida, O$U, and Texas rank higher.

If they threw in hockey...who knows? :P

Yes, Wisconsin just rolls off the tongue from fans around the country with Florida, OSU and Texas.  LOL.

Of course, if Gary Parrish said it

What do those 4 schools have in common?  Lots and lots of NCAA violations over the years.  The difference, of course, is that those three have turned those into championships while Becky never does.

You know what they don't have in common with those 3 schools?  A National Championship in the last 10 years, or even a National Championship or Final Four appearance.  I don't think anyone would view the Badgers as a threat to win a FB national championship and despite what they want to say, reach an NCAA FF either.

5. Buzz saw him play, offered, but the 4.0 Valedictorian chose the Harvard of the Morraine.

That's like saying Stout is the Harvard of Western Wisconsin, or the Harvard about 1 hour east of Minneapolis.
I'm like a turtle, sometimes I get run over by a semi.

Finishing near the top of the BE, beating Duke anywhere and winning an NCAA game would be a good season for most teams and is not an indication that they don't care all that much.

What I meant was, that they don't care that much about being better than they already are.
