U.S., Blue advance to medal semifinals

Marquette Golden Eagles incoming freshman Vander Blue hasn't put up big numbers, but is nonetheless starting and been part of two drubbings handed out by USA Basketball in the FIBA Americas U18 Championship in San Antonio, Texas.

Blue with 5 steals

Not taking many shots....overall he is 5/9 from 2, 1/2 from 3.

Luke Winn's tweet:Vander Blue is everywhere vs. ARG. Steals, great open-floor passes, slick pull-up Js. He, DJO + Cadougan are gonna make a great Marq bkcourt

Most shots he's put up this tourney by a longshot..

He has 13 points.. Irving and Rivers are huge offensively.. Van is the man on d and all around...4 point Brazil lead, 6 minutes left.. hella game..

.... nice dish to Q Miller for the trey.. US by 3 with 25 seconds to go

Qunicy Miller hit a 3 with an assist from Blue for the win.  (I believe)

Was Vander the only non-mcdonals's all american on the team?   Earning a starting spot and equally impressively being in the game in crunch time says alot about this kids abilities.
