"Institutions like Colorado, Texas & Arkansas amongst others expressed interest but it was my old friend, hard driving Buzz WIlliams who called me bright and early Monday morning at 7AM asking for the skinny on the Big Fella's character and work ethic.  Once again, Marquette was quickest on the draw with contacting the NCAA and receiving Hahn's "jacket".  He is now subsequently getting on a flight in Austin, TX this morning and headed to Milwaukee for the grand tour of the beautiful Big East campus."

Must have gone down as soon Buzz cooled on Dieng. Gotta give it up to Buzz. He always has a plan.

Is this guy better than Ben Mills?  Seriously, the article says that he was likely headed to a Southland or Big West Conference school before a big weekend at some tournament...shades of Roseboro.

Please tell me we're not this desperate.

For starters, he is 40 pounds heavier.

It does seem to smack of desperation, doesn't it?

dwaderoy2004

i think it smacks of leaving no stone unturned this late in the game.  At least the kid is visiting before we offer him.

GGGG

But the question is why are we leaving no stone unturned?  Why is Buzz so intent on getting a big in here next year?  One that until recently was signed at Texas State?  Remember, this type of decision ties up a scholarship for four years...supposedly.

Hey, I'm willing to admit that I am completely wrong but this kind of stuff out of leftfield makes me a little worried.

I love that the live traffic feed on that site is a long string of people linking to it from here.  :D

This just further cements that Buzz is going his hardest at a recruit this spring as this prospect doesn't seem on the same level as the other names we've had the past six weeks. With all rides booked, someone will soon be jettisoned.

I'll hang up and wait as those cooler then me tell me for the 19th time that the speculation is pointless, Buzz knows whats going on, and I'm a fool for thinking the only option is someone being asked to leave.

Saw the link...the author (maybe it's his father?) has a bunch of David Hahn stuff on his page.  Anyway, it's cool to see what he can do, but I'd rather see him in competition and how his footwork is at game speed.

Kind of reminds me of the videos of Yi Jianlian tearing it up against a folding chair

Agreed. I'm hoping that video isn't indicative of his real ability. He missed a ton of layups and the intensity was definitely lacking.

I'd love to get a big with drops steps like these guys:

Texas State????????  That should say enough.  Please no more projects at center.

Given Otule's reported progress, I don't think we need to reach for a big this spring. Wouldn't landing a decent big in '11 make more sense than picking over the leftovers for a project in spring '10?

I think its starting to get hard to believe that no one will leave.  When we were talking highly sought after decommits, etc, it was easy to think that Buzz was just looking to upgrade the roster, etc.  But with the steady stream of recruiting trips this late in the game (particularly now for guys who seem pretty raw and may not be able to contribute immediately) it certainly seems like Buzz feels he is playing with an extra scholarship rather than having to forcefully move someone off the squad to clear a spot.

GoldenWarrior

Not impressed, I like his height and that's about it.  His hook would get blocked too often in the Big East... he squares before the release even and intensity clearly lacking.  I understand it's just "practice" videos or whatever, but still unimpressive.

GGGG

I'd rather just go with an unused scholie for next year if this is any indication of the quality we are looking at right now.

You guys are unreal.....when did everyone become a scout?....if Buzz has it on good authority from his Texas connections that this kid has real potential....I mean Texas wouldn't be calling if he was a dud....then we need to let Buzz be the coach and recruiter and until he proves us wrong, stop second guessing him.....he hasn't made too many mistakes thus far has he?

Besides, the article doesn't say we have offered yet does it?  Buzz wants a closer look.

Some kids are late bloomers especially when they have late growth spurts....and let's face it you're all dreaming if you think we're going to steal the "premier" bigs from the likes of UNC, Duke, UConn and others who have a real history of sending bigs to the league..... the article clearly states he is projected some degree of greatness two years from now....I sure would have taken the kid from Baylor this year wouldn't you have?

We have to start somewhere to get a serious look from the top guys in the future.

Canadian Dimes

forget this kid but i would take his grandpa in a heartbeat to back up Junior.  That guy runs the pick and roll like CP3!!!!!!!!!
