Former Secretary of the Department of Administration for the state of Wisconsin under Governor Jim Doyle (and spent some time in the Old Gym).

No disrespect to him, but a mid level state bureaucrat isn't exactly "famous."

Probably not, but he was a pretty good rebounder for us in the 80's.
sayyyyyy, would he have made it if he had gone to jail over the 'travel-gate' scandal?

One I haven't seen mentioned.

Nick D'Agosto, class of 2002.  He's one of the new characters on the NBC show Heroes.

http://imdb.com/name/nm0194900/

And though I'm not sure you can call her famous yet, Colleen Foy...I think she was 2003.  She's in a new movie with Daniel Day-Lewis that is receiving a lot of support from the critics.

That would be Billy Hayes.  He was the subject and author of the book Midnight Express which was then turned into a movie.

Hey! I was there. Got a copy of his book, Road Swing, and while I still haven't managed to read the whole thing, what I remember was pretty entertaining. As was his speech. Always enjoyed his column in SI.

Wow I was there too.  Great speech and the book is well worth the read.  Great stories about life on the road and sports history.  For whatever reason the passage that sticks out most in my mind was about this up-and-coming Quarterback at Kentucky named Tim Couch.  (I guess he can't be right about everything)

Clememt Zablocki, Chairman of House Foreiegn Relations, was an MUHS and MU grad.

So was SEC boss and MU player John Fedders (who was accused of beating his wife).

the kid in heroes and the office is not famous.  he's still sharing an apartment with a few guys.  not exactly living in beverly hills.

He's a recognizable face anyway.

for people that watch those shows he is.  He's one of the regulars on Heroes and has had a lot of random rolls in the past few years.  Give him a little time and I'm guessing he'll be pretty recognizable.

Steve Bertrand who does news on WGN radio is an alum and big booster.  Also, Charlie Pierce the Boston sportswriter and panelist on Wait Wait Don't Tell me on NPR talks about his MU days.

Please strike Bertrand from the list.  If someone even suggested he was famous, I'm afraid his head might explode beyond its already inflated status.  I often have to apologize to my own peeps for Bertrand, who can't seem to read the news without his own editorial spin; one I don't share.
Let's just say that he was a happy guy in January.

Nick D'Agosto was the guy on Heroes and The Office.  He was my roommate at MU and also here in LA for a few years.  But he's been living in his own (sweet) place for a few years now, so you can lay the "he must not be successful because he still lives with a bunch of dudes" argument to rest.

you can also catch his work in the feature films ELECTION (w/ matt broderick and reese witherspoon) FIRED UP (lead role) and ROCKETSCIENCE.  He just left for Mexico a few days ago to start shooting another feature opposite the lovely Camilla Belle.

also - the guy in the picture with Joel McHale on NBC'S COMMUNITY is Danny Pudi.  he is a theatre grad. from '01.  He is a huge MU hoops fan and one hell of a nice guy.

if we are going to do local celebrities... rob hart (currently of 720 WGN news in chicago and formerly of WTMJ radio in milwaukee) graduated from MU a few years back.

as did an Illinois state senator and member of crain's business magazines "top 40 under 40"... MU's Dave Sullivan

I believe Dave is no longer a State Senator and has become a lobbyist.  He also is no longer under the age of 40.
