Hope this helps.  Add another five star SF and that is ridiculous.

Very good for MU's status with Black though.

According to a Memphis fan on the Rivals National Board, they're looking to sign 7 or possibly 8 players in this class.  Sounds ridiculous but I guess you never know.  With Kendrick, they'd have 6 players committed.

To clarify what GOMU1104 said, Wolken just tweet that Kendrick signed yesterday

bilsu

Memphis signing Kendrick does not help Marquette at all, in fact it probably hurts us. I happy that Kendrick is not going to Indiana. They were sure they had him. Now I need Selby to go elsewhere also.

Kendrick and Joe Jackson (Memphis commit) both play on the same AAU team as Black, the Memphis Magic, so it does not necessarily help our chances as much as we think. Maybe he wants to branch out from those guys, got my fingers crossed. At least in a way we dodged a bullet and Black didn't commit to them tonight, but I was much more confident earlier today than I am now about Black coming to MU.

Kendrick played this as close to the vest as anyone.  Nobody knew what he was thinking. The fact that he actually signed YESTERDAY, and no one found out, just speaks to how close he kept this.

He was supposed to wait til spring...IU thought they had him...Georgetown thought they had him...and then out of seemingly nowhere, he commits to Memphis.

Talk about a stacked AAU team...Jackson, Kendrick, Black, J. Jones...wow

Jones and Kendrick were teammates on HoopPlanet, which Kendrick left to play for the Memphis Magic.

That was my mistake, I thought Jones joined him on the Magic.

Wow - the Memphis folks think they will get Black too.  Hope that is not the case and he comes to MU - come on TB!

GGGG

Kendrick played with Black.  Momentum is with Pastner.  My guess is that Black is at Memphis.

One guy on their boards has a "source" implying that it could be Black + Kendrick...yikes.

I want all Memphis commits to look at themselves hard in the mirror and say, "I do not want to dominate the Big East (or insert other power conference). I want to dominate a mid-major CUSA."

I really don't think that even enters into the equation.

To each his own...They will get to play with some amazing talents (each other), win alot of games, get high seeds, get alot of attention, etc...

Yup, #1 or #2 seeds, which basically guarantee you the second weekend in the tourney.

Memphis currently has 16 players on its roster, and only four of them are seniors. How do they bring back 12 players, then sign eight new ones? Is this a football team or a basketball team?

StillWarriors

At this point, it seems it would be pretty surprising if he comes to MU seeing that he could stay home on a stacked team. Memphis does have too many guys, but we've all seen how somehow the coaches make the numbers work out.

Take a closer look.

Of the 16, 6 of them are walk ons.  So that's only 10 scholarship players.  They lose three to graduation, so they have 6 available scholarships to start with.  Given that Angel Garcia's career may be over due to injury, and someone may decide to turn pro, 8 schollies is not out of the question.

Hi there MU fans.

I must admit, it has been fun shadow reading your posts and comments about Memphis.

Whats going to be more fun is witnessing what shall transpire Tuesday of next week (possibly Wednesday, but no later than that) and checking you guys reaction.
BTW, the NCAA has imposed a rule were former high coaches cant use their players as a bargaining tool to land collegiate jobs. That sucks for you guys.   ;)

Memphis State is guaranteed a sweet 16 position every year.  They storm through the cusa and get a 1,2,or 3 seed.  They basically can walk to the sweet 16 and  do even more with luck.

You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

No matter what happens with the basketball, you can be proud of your stellar grammar.  Amazing.  Truly amazing.  You may be slow, but I bet you can run fast.  Talk to you Tuesday of 'next week' (or possibly Wednesday, but no later than that).

I'm sure you're enjoying your unemployed status, but if you want a gig to pick up a couple bucks, you'd fit in well as an interviewer at euroleague.net.. check it out, homeboy.

PS - good luck vs. Rice in your tough conference play this year - I hear they are tough.

Sounds like skating through a season to me.

Best of luck to you guys... I guess your veiled comments mean that Black's committing or that someone on Memphis staff was a former coach who helped land some recruit?

Whatever you say pally. Let's hope they're all academically eligible and Pastner (or assts) doesn't pull any stunts to *gasp* get Memphis State disqualified for the big dance. BTW, pray for a victory on Tuesday vs Kansas.
