I work downtown and now find myself walking around six blocks to the Real Chili on Wells & Jefferson about once a week to feed my craving for it.  That one doesn't take plastic (unless they just started it this week).

Breakfast:    Who eats breakfast?    Snickers bar and diet Pepsi.
Lunch: Wales on Wells cheddar burger with a side of cheese fries.    Mmmmmmm, chheeeeeessse.
Dinner:   (and this one has been driving me crazy trying to remember the name)    There was this pizza place out around 27th and Wisconsin that had a 16", 3 topping, plus a 2 liter for $6.99.    I can smell it but I can't remember the name.    Damn.
After bar:   I was more of an Amigo's Chimichanga guy than a real chili guy.   If there was a conversation to be had, then a visit to the IHOP around 20th and Wisconsin.

This will drive me crazy now...they opened a bar on Water Street back in the early 90's, which is the current home of MacGillycuddy's...anyone?

Since I started working at MU the Broken Yolk has been a pleasent suprise. Good food for a good price. Their cheese steak is by far one of the best things that they serve. It is also one of the favorite spots for the Basketball team to eat as you can usually see just about any of the players there at lunch time ordering food.

Lucci's delivered to my room about 4 days a week back in '84.  I remember getting a checking account at M&I and 9 out of 10 checks written that year were payable to Lucci's.  They had a special pepperoni pizza combo where the grease would collect in the curled up crisp pepperoni.  The garlic product was garlic puffs back then....basically fried dough doused in garlic powder and more grease.  A liter of RC was also included in the deal.  After having this pizza I never once returned to Angelos (no offense).  In fact, I have only been inside Angelo's Pizza once ---  and that was the first day I was ever in Milwaukee.

First Snow storm of season, walk into O'D eatery where they are serving Roast Beef and Mashed Potatoes I don't' care what sodexho hole they came from. That way the perfect meal at the perfect time, especially for a Virginia boy during his first winter in Wisconsin.
