I look forward to seeing Vander Blue take the floor at the BC in November 2010.

VegasWarrior77

I think it's a case of Blue blowing up athletically and not wanting to play in a half court offense.  Blue would definitely look great in blue & gold!  BTW, Aaron Bowen also seems to be blowing up down south.  The difference is that MU's offense is perfect for showcasing his talents!  Those TWO together in the same recruiting class (w/ the 6'-10" Clark) - priceless!

In breaking news, Bucky Fans blame Wes Matthews for VB decommitting.
;D

They should blame that style they play, it's like watching Air Force run the wishbone.  It wins them games but no one wants to play in it.

I don't think it's that nobody wants to play in it.  I think Bo just likes to wrap up his classes early with players that have potential, but have yet to develop fully.

Seriously?  Okay - how about talented, athletic players don't want to play in a half court offense that doesn't score a lot?  Large farm boys don't mind it.

If the style don't fit, you must decommit!

Sorry.

Like Devin Harris, Marcus Landry, etc. etc. etc.

Don't be overly simplistic.  The Jesuits taught you better than that.

Man, does Matthews want to supplant Wade as Marquette's main spokesman?

Nice! Now we just need him to make the NBA!!!  ;D

So that leaves us with Landry.  Didn't he play in the NBADL?  If I was a talented senior in high school I wouldn't look to Bo to get me to the next level based on his track record.

I actually felt sorry for Marcus Landry- being wasted in the slow down style Bo uses..., I just don't understand his insisting on forcing square pegs into round holes!  I believe Landry had much to show, build on, offer to a coach that could see his potential.  As did Brian Butch coming out of high school.  Bo's 'gift' if you will, is making much out of little.  The danger is that some times he makes little out of much.

Ummm...Landry was a senior this year.  He may play in the NBADL in the future, but he hasn't even graduated yet.

That shows how UW players don't stand out!  I rest my case...!

He has a brother, Carl, who is doing just fine in the NBA. Given, Carl is better, but Marcus has that type of potential as well.

Yes.  He signed with a coach who was offensively even less effective in Dick Bennett.

Carl is also bigger...that helps.  Marcus is going to have to play the 3 which means he will have to shoot a lot better than he does now.

BC he was a virtual unknown coming out of East bc of injuries.

Virtual unknown?  Harris was Mr. Basketball and the AP Player of the Year in 2001 and ranked in the top 150 by a couple of services.  The injuries held him back, but he was still a sought after player.

Blackhat

Bo's a great coach who has mastered a system which maximizes his talent.   But there is some truth to most of the top players not wanting to play in a system where you have to make the other team defend for 25 seconds, i.e. slow the tempo on O and then defend like a dog on the d end.   Most high profile guys see the NBA is a different beast and want to play more to that style in college.

BrewCity83

Ya think any other fast paced high school ballers in Chicago will hear Wes' message here about UW-Madison?  This type of article in the Tribune won't help Bo recruit the Chicago area...

Was that after he already signed with UW?  I don't recall the timeline, but I thought Harris didn't really explode until his Sr. year due to injuries.  What were his other offers at the time he signed with UW?
