I'm not sure how Al's boycott of the NCAA tournament worked.

Made in instigator laugh.  Boycots are politically unpopular, but unfortunstly they work.

Sounds good.

You get this boycott started, and in 4 to 5 years we'll judge how well it worked.

Did you see 60 Minutes tonight?

Those diplomats could've used some tin-foil to spark away that microwave radiation. Until now, they were being laughed at.

Also, cue up ex CIA director addressing the CFR on stratospheric aerosol injection and tell me chemtrails are the den of lunatic "Conspiracy" theorists. There's a reason that term was coined.

IMO and I'm 75, it gained us respect, he was tired of being disrespected.
I'm not sure the term boycott is appropriate.
He was tired of the NCAA sending us out of our region.  We were an independent and were treated as poor cousins.

Marquette wasn't sent out of its region in either 1968 or 69 though.

We need an historian, I was in the Marines those years.  What year did he chose the NIT?

"70, beating Pistol Pete and Dr. J. along the way.

So there, first he got respect, then he won it all.

But I get it, now we are not looking for respect we are looking for T.V. contracts, money, and an image.  I'm not suggesting we leave the BE, all I'm asking for is respect.

BTW, I could use a little respect around here myself.  Living in a pool of snarky put down artists and name callers is not very civilized.
