Disagree. I looked around a lot .. The lower bowl had a surprisingly high number of empties, scattered around.  It was mostly full, but several hundred empty, not even counting the 8-15 rows of empty student section.

Apparently there were many yellow vests in Paris for the weekend

I think this is pretty spot-on.  Was it the same ref that called both?  If it wasn't, I could see the explanation given to Sam being something along the lines of "I didn't think it was a technical, but we have to be consistent, and your reaction was identical to the KSt players reaction so...".

Same ref. I will say that the KSU player was more "dramatic" about his reaction in terms of running toward the bench after the initial foul call then Sam, but neither deserved a T and in Sam's case he should have gotten a foul called for him not against him. Really should have been no call period, but of the 3 outcomes, Sam picking up a foul for that play was a far distant 3rd
