That defensive possession late in the home game vs Butler where Stevie covered every guy who touched the ball was absolutely amazing and indicative of who he is as a player.  Just so tough and relentless.  Love him.  Well deserved honor!

I have said a few times this season, but I think I have had nine different favorite players this season. Pretty cool to be a fan of a team that you would have to try not to like a guy as player or a person. This might not happen again for a long, long time.

Goose, like you I have several faves. My wife has decided Stevie's her fave, though.

"The guy just never quits, never lets the guy he's guarding breathe. He energizes the whole team, and he does it even if he never scores a point."

I have learned not to argue with Mrs. 82 very often ... and I certainly won't argue with her about that!

The affection that Mrs. Legs feels toward Stevie has become an issue for us.

A couple of weeks ago Seth Davis went on Twitter asking for nominations, and I responded with a few videos of Stevie.

So I am taking full credit for his making the team.  ;D
Have some patience, FFS.

82, Mrs. Miles is in the same boat re: Stevie.

And I'm in the same boat with you on the latter part.

You never know.  You may have helped a great deal.  Davis does follow the Big East closely though.  You and the first place finish probably pushed him over the edge.  Nice work!

Early in the season, he got the Lockett treatment.   To be fair, nearly everyone has come around.
I don't read the board as closely as others so I missed the lack of appreciation fans had for him. I do remember reading he was going to lose minutes to Jop which made me chuckle

Crazy. I'm not sure there's a more Shaka player in all of college basketball than SM

I don't post much anymore, but this thread got me to join in.  What cemented it for me with Stevie was the X game.  It's what I saw.  MU was struggling offensively.  The fans were restless.  MU down double digits.  At a TO, Shaka and staff discussing, Stevie takes Shaka's seat.  He is getting in everyone's face with passion.  MU came out of that TO and turned the game around with their defense.  The D led to offense and the crowd came alive and the game changed.

At the TO, I commented to the those with me about Stevie taking control of that huddle.  I have seen Oso do that, but that was the only time I saw Stevie do it.  And do it with passion.  To me, that brought the team together that game and changed the direction of the team - both in that game and going forward.

My mom loves Stevie as well.  Seems to be a favorite of the ladies lol.

I think there is a long line of Scoop  spouses who "admire" Stevie.  One of them regularly hugs Stevie after home games, while her Scooper husband is forced to take their picture.

Hopefully this isn't along the lines of what is discussed in this thread

Herman Cain

Love how Stevie gives it his all on every possession , He is a force to be reckoned with as a result of that effort . Stevie is a great teammate and outstanding in the classroom. Has incredible on court IQ .

Kids like this don't come around often .  Glad he is being celebrated both internally and externally .
