Several years and at least one stock split (maybe 2) ago, Smuggles was telling people not to buy AAPL at $90 because it was dead money.

Guess what? It wasn't. It's up many, many, many hundred percent since then.

Congrats on keeping your shares and having a very nice stake in a great American company. Me too!

(BTW, Smuggles is Heisenberg. Around the time he was demonstrating his stock-picking acumen, he bragged something like, "I know I'm smug. It's because I'm right so often." So I call him Smuggles. He even changed his screen name to that for a brief time IIRC.)

This is completely accurate.  And it was 2016, five years ago.  I've made much worse trades since then.  The Apple trade was a mid-level mistake.

And yes ... I did say I'm smug because I am.  And yes, after he started calling me smuggles, I did change my screen name to that.

Delicious losses

Delicious losses are like Red Delicious apples. There is literally nothing to like and everything to hate. Hoops life imitates nature.

Almost everyone agrees: The Red Delicious is a crime against the apple. The fruit makes for a joyless snack, despite the false promise of its name, with a bitter skin that gives way to crumbling, mealy flesh. The Red Delicious is a bit like a Styrofoam prop: It looks picturesque, but really has no business in the mouth.
