Of course , Jamal.  Terrific night,   We would not be talking about SOTG if not for Jamal.

Yes, leadership has to come from the top.   By that I mean the seniors and by that I mean from the bottom up.   The coach can model the way, provide the opportunity for success, encourage the heart, but then people like Jamal have to lead.  Jamal is a winner, a true leader.

In the post game interview he also demonstrated a characteristic of all the leaders I have known, humility.   The humility of the generals I have known is amazing.   Ambition, education, experience yes, but humility above all.  Not at all like the Hollywood John Wayne characterization.

Some people around here are expecting our guys and coach to be Rambo.  Real winners are people like Jamal.

This was hard game to watch, but coming back from an 18 point deficit feels better than losing in a blow out. I am not optimistic about our chances against UCONN on Tuesday. Hope I'm wrong.

Actually, I'm very optimistic about our chances against UCONN. Our level of play has seemingly decreased game by game, but I'm thinking this kinda game against Georgetown is just what the doctor ordered. It's not like this team is not talented. We most definitely can and will beat the Huskies.

Hope you are right.  Many times ugly wins precede a run of several wins in a row.  Glad we got it.  When everything is counted up at the end of the year that could be one of those wins that will help our case for the post season rather than hurt it (see prior years where losing to DePaul caused us to miss the tournament).

Team sleepwalked through first 30 minutes, lucky to win.  Cain was great, and a performance like his is SOG worthy any time, though.  Easy choice.

Unfortunately for us.....Nova is after Uconn so several in a row is unlikely. But Uconn is a big one, we can definitely win. That gets us back to 3-3 which is probably 3-4 after Nova. But then we have a lot of winnable games coming up.

Just do not want to be 2-4 staring down NOva.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Just a brutal box score. There is only one person in America who is going to want to remember this game.
Hats off to JC for what we hope is a confidence-building performance.

However, everyone on MU not named Jamal Cain shot 30.8% FG (15-49) and 5.9% 3pt FG (1-17) in a basketball game that Marquette won.

Anyone with easy access to the numbers know when the last W with a worse eFG% was?

Last season Nova W had a worse team eFG%.

Impressed by Cain able to play 345 minutes in this game. Clearly stud worthy.  ;)

Brew's not a negative poster here. By far.

Brew is down on Wojo (which doesn't stand out on this board if you look at the Projo poll) but he is still in touch with reality and is not a one-trick pony.

We didn't make shots, but our guys never stopped playing hard. So I don't really think the team "sleepwalked," at least not the way I would define that term. To me, that suggests lack of effort, and I seriously don't believe there was a lack of effort. Most teams look bad when shooting 25%.
