You think I like watching the state of our program? You think I like that we are probably the at best 6th best program in our league, behind not just Nova but SHU, Creighton, Providence, and Xavier?

I've put a lot of personal time into Marquette basketball. I've put a lot of money into Marquette basketball. And I've put more love than I can measure into the program. And for the past 7 years, it's been a rolling, sinking letdown.

I wish I could still look at this through rose colored glasses, but every year it's a combination of underachievement and excuses and I'm sick of it.

You think I like being negative? I'm one of the most optimistic people I know, and the levels of pessimism this era has forced upon us is neither familiar nor comfortable. And what I saw tonight wasn't something that made me happy. We barely beat a team with a buy-level roster. I'm gonna hold off on popping the champagne.
Get a fucking grip. It's college basketball

Do I think you like being negative...hmmm, yes.

Otherwise you would be happy we had an 18pt come from behind road victory tonight.  Given your deep love and significant financial investment in the program I would assume you'd at least be happy that we won.  Unless of course you just enjoy being negative 🤷‍♂️

Literally the first thing I said in my first post in the thread was Jamal. Since then, I've responded when responded to. Sort of like how you are perpetuating this now.

You said no one deserves it when Jamal clearly does, sorry for reading your entire post I guess.

Get a unnatural carnal knowledgeing grip. It's college basketball

All the more reason to not get irrationally happy over getting down 18 to the worst team in the league.

Speak for yourself. You choose to be negative. Relax a bit. MU hasn't won a championship since 1977. Nor have they gotten to the final four since 2003. No matter who the coach is and what teams he builds it's always going to be a long ride of ups and downs. Such is life. I'm not part of said "us" that falls into a state of misery and pessimism. Maybe it would be healthier to remove yourself a bit if it's causing such distress.

Who is happy about that?  We won. That's enough.

Seriously, maybe you need to take a break.  Focus on something else in your life. Get some perspective.

Jamal.

But shout-out to Symir.  Probably his best game of the season, even if it's not in the box score.  He ran the offense for a good 5-6 minutes after Carton went down and was a major part of us breaking into that lead.
I agree—although, not sure if Sywas my pick. But I said during that run....both DJ and Koby are on the bench....do you ride them with5 minutes to go?

That's the thing brew, no one is irrationally happy over this. I haven't seen one person singing Wojos or the teams praises beyond their fight in the second half.

There are people irrationally angry over a win that was one point short of the spread.

Apparently you didn't watch how the team played.

I did watch.  Jamal was an absolute stud.  I'm not sure what you watched if you think Jamal was not a stud tonight.

DFW HOYA

Georgetown with five turnovers in the final 3:36, shoots 0 for 8 from three down the stretch when all it needed was some good two pointers inside.

Sadly, this has become commonplace in the Ewing era.

BM1090

Very happy for Jamal.

Mr. Nielsen

Cain.
Huge three late!

It's called Stud of the Game.

It's not called Marquette Didn't Play Well For Most of the Game So I'll Use This Thread to Beyotch About Wojo Because Beyotching About Wojo In the 50 Wojo Sucks Threads Is Not Enough For Me And Even If There Most Certainly Was an Obviously Deserving Stud of the Game I'll Say Nobody Deserved It Because Again Wojo Sucks ... of the Game.

Spaniel with a Short Tail

Brew's not a negative poster here. By far. Give him a break. But tonight is for celebrating a victory along with a studly performance by Jamal. I'm sure a new nojo thread will pop up tomorrow for the big picture stuff.

It's kinda sad that this SOTG thread only has 3 pages, half of which are scolding Brew, while the stupid $5 Pitcher thread is at 6 pages and counting.

Thankfully, we figured out the contrary and did enough in the 2ns Half.

PGsHeroes32

I might be wrong but I think Cain was 8/9 in the second half. And if so, the only miss was him getting a great put back attempt that just didnt go down.

Really, really strong half.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Life is too short to be upset when we win, and even more upset when we lose.

I am happy because we won. And I am thrilled for Jamal because he played a great game.

You and 82 are the winners in this thread.

Brew is the loser, but I'll chalk it up to frustration. He is a always a good fan and poster (except tonight).  ;D
