I've wanted to see a more successful Jamal for a while. This season he has been a bright spot.

Jamal SOTG
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

We didn't win, Georgetown lost. Sorry, but this was an indefensible performance. We were terrible and the only saving grace was that Georgetown somehow managed to be worse.

The first 5 turnovers,  yes.  The second half,  we upped pressure on d and forced those turnovers. Wojo made the gutsy call to keep McEwen,  Theo,  and Carton on the bench. During the game I thought he waited too long but was wrong. Wasn't Wojo not riding the hot hand one of your knocks on him?

We wouldn't have looked so bad if anyone besides Cain could hit an open shot. Coaching got us open shots in the first half that no one could hit.

There would be a mutiny if it is not Cain

Jamal.

Apparently once you start drinking that "Nojo juice", it's hard to stop.  First half was bad, halftime adjustments leading to a great second half were good.  No such thing as a "bad" road conference win.

The first five when we built a 4-2 lead? Or when they airmailed passes out of bounds later?

I hate that this is how I feel after a win, but Georgetown gift wrapped this and we still barely escaped. You cite the spread, it's only that low because we've been so atrocious coming into this.

There's no defense for this defense. The offense is offensive. And it took facing a god awful roster for us to escape with a desperation win in the final minute.

I stand by Jamal as SOTG but the team performance as not deserving of any praise.

💯!!

People complain to they're blue in the face that wojo doesn't make in game adjustments, terrible rotations, blah blah blah.

Then when he does they ignore it.  Aside from Cain the whole team had an off shooting night.  Wide open 3's nowhere near going in, poor free throw shooting down the stretch, Theo and Koby in foul trouble but we come back from 18 down on the road and the likely suspects can't even bring themselves to cheer for that.

This team isn't winning the BE and they're not a second weekend of the tourney team, no one expected that so i for one am happy as hell every time we scratch out a conference W no matter how ugly it is.

Cain, Cain,Cain.  Sorry but when you Win there are style points within that game to be noted.

Posters have their choice on what to focus on the good or the bad.  I find it hard to not smile after an immediate winning Score.

A lot of insufferable posters as usual. We've watched Jamal for over three years and by all accounts he seems like a great guy. All smiles from me after his performance. He deserved his shot at having a game like this. Or wait, did GT just walk away and let him score every point?

What's become uncomfortable for me is watching a small section of our fan base act like emotional high schoolers who have become so obsessed with the idea Wojo needs to go that they can't bring themselves to cheering on their team.

We were coming off a 3 game losing streak and staring an embarrassing 4th loss in a row right in the face.  We rallied and won the game. Cheer for the players, be happy tonight....it's ok!

Im sorry brew,  you've lost touch with reality. Our guys missed everything the first half.  Carton biffed an uncontested layup,  Elliott did too, Lewis and a Garcia were 0 for everything on open in rhythm threes. That's not bad coaching.  Some of the adjustments that led to the comeback were examples of good coaching. Our team has a low floor and high ceiling.  We saw both tonight.

This isn't one for Wojos highlight reel. It's also not a nail in his coffin.

Exactly. I have respected Brew for a long time on here—great as constant insight.
Dirty, struggling, ugly wins are wins. That is the name of the game.
To be of the spirit as to not give the stupid fuckin SOTG to our actual STOG....who we needed in a desperate game is bizarre.
Ironically, probably the biggest STOG this year.

Fools gold after the late February win over Georgetown last season. Let's see how many people fall for it this year.

The sober reality is that we won the game. It wasn't pretty, but stop acting like you are owed something beautiful every game. They sucked for 30 minutes of the game, yet fought like hell and pulled out a win.  Sorry if that's not good enough for you and the other mopes.

You think I like watching the state of our program? You think I like that we are probably the at best 6th best program in our league, behind not just Nova but SHU, Creighton, Providence, and Xavier?

I've put a lot of personal time into Marquette basketball. I've put a lot of money into Marquette basketball. And I've put more love than I can measure into the program. And for the past 7 years, it's been a rolling, sinking letdown.

I wish I could still look at this through rose colored glasses, but every year it's a combination of underachievement and excuses and I'm sick of it.

You think I like being negative? I'm one of the most optimistic people I know, and the levels of pessimism this era has forced upon us is neither familiar nor comfortable. And what I saw tonight wasn't something that made me happy. We barely beat a team with a buy-level roster. I'm gonna hold off on popping the champagne.

"Woe is me, I've invested my own time into a collegiate basketball program, so that gives me the right to say that there was no SOTG even though there was very clearly was."  Grow up, give Jamal his dues.  This is a young man that has been nothing but class for the program, and is another great example of player development that the program has.  If you want to sh!t on Wojo, go do it in one of the designated threads, they're not hard to find.

Literally the first thing I said in my first post in the thread was Jamal. Since then, I've responded when responded to. Sort of like how you are perpetuating this now.
