Wouldnt have mattered.

Beating DePaul wouldn't have done much.

Beating DePaul would have put us in the 10-8 group in the BE. With the tiebreakers we'd have been third. We would have breezed in to the Dance.

That's a metric that the committee doesn't look at. I think we needed a win against Xavier or Villanova. Maybe beating Georgia and DePaul would have done it. However, I think it was the lack of a top RPI win that did us in.

Agreed. Would have been both ignorant and arrogant to turn down.

Disagree. I did watch at least part of all of the games, but as I said earlier, the season was over when we did not make the NCAA.

My view is we neither reward nor accept mediocrity. These are not teams that would have helped us,  had we played them in the regular season, in our quest to be an NCAA team.  Like us, most were flawed.

I hope that what other posters said in here were right, that we gain something for next year. But with the injuries and the incoming change in personnel, I think we will have a different look and different set of issues next fall.

MU was in ND's bracket.  ND was the first team out and thus the highest 1-seed in the NIT.  Doesn't that make MU the lowest 2-seed?

No. Not how the NIT works. They place teams regionally while still keeping conference teams as separated at possible. That's why our region had a lot of Midwest/Northeast. The other had a lot of southeast.  And the other side of the bracket was all west coast. Oregon drew the short straw because there were 5 P12 teams in the NIT

We didn't choke it away you fool.  We lost a game to a more physical team playing with an additional day's rest when at least two of our critical players, most notably Sam, simply couldn't bring it anymore.  Thanks for your non support.

Didn't think I needed the teal...

If you don't track individual posters carefully, it is super easy to assume that it was a serious comment.  Scoopers have posted far worse and meant it.
Have some patience, FFS.

Sorry.  If you meant it as 'teal', I apologize.
