It's time for a complete performance. We desperately need a W.
I would be happier if Kam Jones stops playing hero ball! See if Shaka is getting into his head

I'd like to see Stevie and OMax in particular be more aggressive offensively. Definitely need more paint attacks and ball movement.

3pt shooting may have gotten uglier this game already
Good attack. Maybe that gers us going.
The D has been strong.
Stevie a bit out of control on two drives. Use the shot fake.
Damn....no need to reach on the press. Two for O-Max.
Is Pastner a 70s game show host?
Wasn't that a trip?? Good hustle by Oso.
feels like GT is getting away with a lot of contact. Looked like a tackle under the basket.
I think we're playing a tick too fast. Relax, be balanced and composed, move the basketball.
BAM!! Let's go now!!
Ugh. Only up ten
Two great attacks by Chase.
They are focused on both ends. Intense game.
Gold must have said Franklin was slow.
Tough few mins for Gold.
Going to be in the bonus pretty early
Franklin eating Gold for dinner. Wrightsil, this is your moment??

Is he available today?
Can we acquire this Franklin cat for future considerations before we leave town?
Nice to see TK hit the floater.
Three very positive drives from TK. Good balance and use of the shot fake.
Flush That!! Let's go now!!
Strong start by Kolek, hope he stays disciplined. Gold has got to make those shots, if he wants to play.
That's a big old rock. Cute kid too
Joplin is a terrible dribbler
Awful turn by Jop. FOCUS!!
Sit Kam. NOW. Two bad shots.
Jones doing his best impression of Howard now.
Kolek getting some
Someone needs to tape a picture of Markus Howard to the mirror in the locker room so Kam can look at it and then at himself. Maybe then he would realize he isn't Markus Howard
Kam needs to be lectured strongly imo about shot selection. No need for him to chuck.

Yes. Have a talk with Kam.
Stay focused. Nice run. Keep going to the hoop - nice moves by TK
Shaka needs to play Stevie as many minutes as he can handle. May not be a huge scorer but man does he positively impact the game in so many ways.
Great defense on that possession
I have actually liked nearly all of Kam's shots tonight, and he is working hard on D. Just gotta make em
Finish the half strong. A little less finesse and more power from Oso when he gets clean looks in the paint.
I keep hoping Shaka has gotten in Kam's ear, but it sure doesn't look like it's happened yet.
A big fan of Jones the Younger's defense this half.
Is Wrightsil able to play today?
Awesome D there.
Hot take: Young Jones is going to bring their PG to the point of a tech
Beautiful dime from Oso!!
Oso is an excellent player
That was just...beautiful (Oso pass)
Frosh turn there but a strong half by Sean.
Dammit, Jop. Attack
Damn. Should honestly be 20. Lost focus the final few possessions. Really good half though overall.
Joplin seems out sorts.
I know they made a heave three, but that D was great. Didn't bite on the head fake, love it. Joplin on the other hand might have to add more than being a slightly above average shooter. Decent half.
Pretty good half, but we have absolutely no sense of how to close a half.
Joplin has been absolutely horrible. Cost the team 7 points combined on both ends that last 60 seconds.
All else looked pretty strong.
Great half, brutal finish.
Jop would be slow in an adapative basketball league.
Not sure what was more mind boggling his "fast break" dribble. Or whatever you call that attempt on the beautiful Oso dime.
Listened to game on the radio on the way home from work. Tony Smith commented that Joplin needs to be stronger with the ball in traffic. He could not be more correct. Ugh
Sloppy finish. That will be koleks only turnover. Need to stay tough and move the ball. Decent half on both ends. osa impressive

And quicker.
Up 18
Ball of S. Jones thigh. GT gets two free throws
Ball off Kolek foot, GT drains a three
Joplin at bucket.....ouch
Up 13, five points, we'll thrown away. Maybe seven.
Bad last minute or so and great defense, especially Mitchell
Good defense, but GT is also pretty bad it would appear.
Stops In the thread with a 13 point lead
Bunch of recent posts crapping on Joplin or that the lead should be bigger
Checks out - all normal on the game thread.

Except Joplin helped where he didn't need to and left his man pretty open for that 3. Absolutely brutal half for Jop. He's going to be one of those head scratcher players. Ultimately think he's a 1/2 step too slow, and his shooting motion also is slow. But, he's just in his second season, Game 5. Hard working kid, and I think he'll get there as an upperclassmen.
O-Max and Joplin at times struggle with court awareness.

I'll have to rewatch the help, specifically I was watching Kam. I've said I don't think Joplin has it, but I also hope I'm wrong. I don't see the hard working part of his personality much yet, but I have been somewhat impressed with his rebounding in earlier games. I'm all for giving him a chance to work through it, hell, I LOVED Cain, so I can't be a hypocrite!

The first few minutes will say a lot about this team. No way should this game ever become in doubt.
Classic Rafferty comment:
Gold on wing getting ready to shoot a three " He can drill those". Clunk.
Next possession, Gold on other side getting ready to shoot three. Rafferty: "He can make these". Clunk. Rafferty : "Gonna be a process and patience with the big fella"
Gold has nice form, but he is not Kevin Durant, now 2 for 14 on the year. Hope some go in, maybe that's what he needs.
I impressed with play of Sean and Chase.

He will go in a stretch where he gets hot and makes several in a row and it will win Marquette a game or two, hopefully against Bucky.
He will then finish the season with a formidable average from 3 and will improve on that next season.
He will do those things ONLY if he manages to get on the court and stay on the court by playing tough defense and rebounding the ball
T him up!!

One of the dumbest decisions by a group of refs I've ever seen.

Relieved it's not a close game.
The refs for some reason are letting Sean Jones bump guys as much as he wants. Every other freshman gets called for a foul by exhaling on the offensive player. I'll allow it
I truly believe Sean and Chase both have stud potential.
As someone who has live bet almost every GT possession in this game (that MU would be the next team with a FG at + money), that 3 pointer they counted was an awful bad beat.
Luckily MU came back next possession before GT scored a FG again.
That call was bogus, totally inexcusable, and the fact that they reviewed it makes it double abomination inexcusable.
A couple of missed chippies because of a lack of balance and a bit spasmodic.

That's pretty degenerate, but I assume a good move in this game
Good timeout there. MU just missed four layups and a missed three by Ross. GT only scored three points though.
BTW Ross just blocked a shot that was unreal and got no credit for it by Rafferty. Ross is very, very, athletic.

I look for a high possession game, with one team that struggles mightily to score. Every GT possession, MU is +140 to +150 to score next. It's been a profitable venture tonight.
Here we are at the point in the game where the last 10 minutes really matters for metrics purposes, in a game MU has controlled from the tip.
Have a bad finish and win by 10 or less and it doesn't help much.
Finish strong and win by 25+ and you get a decent bump.
You'd have to imagine that G Tech doesn't have a very good NET by seasons end, what's their projection?
I think Wrightsil contributing is important. Gold has some potential but I don't think he can guard yet.
So is Skechers suggesting you buy a pair of shoes whose only purpose is to be worn in the airport?

Nice win. Osa is no question. SOTG Tyler played a great game. 2 turnovers?

We didn't play last night. Just giving you crap....
There were two plays tonight that I would put on a loop if I was Shaka. A drive by Ross and a drive by Kolek. They planted both feet, were under control, shot faked, and converted. We miss too many chippies because we rush them, are not balanced, and don't read the interior defenders.

put Kevin McHale and Kevin Garnett highlights on a loop and give to Oso. If Oso had a 12-15' face-up jumper he'd be an unstoppable beast.

I agree on your thoughts on Oso. Many on here gave up on him last season and it is amazing the change of heart. He has a chance to be a very, very good player moving forward. IMO, if Omax can become more consistent offensively it is going to Oso even better.

agreed. If Omax can let the game come to him, he'll be a matchup migraine. Against an opponent like WI, his athleticism can dominate. But if unsettled and out of sorts, he'll be a non-factor. For MU to win that game, we'll need the settled Omax. And as Goose points out, will benefit Oso.

Yes. Too often he goes stone straight line-lay-up off of one foot. Plant, gather, use the shot fake and pivot foot, and throw the ball down with power through contact.

I foresee Oso with the potential to put up about 14 and 8 by next season. Assuming he gets opportunities. I would like to see him get more touches in our offense right now and from various spots.
