Still hung over from Wednesday night.
Nope this game tells us more than we've improved eating cupcakes.
GO WARRIORS!!!!!!
Let's go with Joey for SOTG.

Don't understand the shooting troubles this year for this team.
Good shooters missing wide open looks.
Very good start besides shots not falling.
Good ball movement. Good shots. Good defense
Uglier than IU game so far
Yep. Cain misses two good looks and gets pulled before the first tv timeout. #confidencebuilder

This is idiotic. Everyone has been subbed out besides Sam.
I just hope we don't get hosed....
They can finish drives infinitely better than MU so far...since I don't believe MU has finished once
This game is tough to watch.
Amazing how many wide open 10 footers and 3s we've missed. And very makable layups
It feels like we caught whatever the Bucks had at the start of their game last night.

Pun aside, that implies MU won't deserve it. Keep playing like this and they will completely deserve what happens to them
Markus didn't take a shot in the first 9 minutes. Guess he was told to look for others.
I'm amazed how many wide open looks we've missed so far.
I honestly dont even know why I had positive expectations for this year....
I honestly think this is our best performance from a process standpoint. Ball is flowing way better. Defense has been good. Still some lapses. Make some shots and we'll pull away the rest of the game
Interesting game so far. Honestly, it's going better than score indicates. The offense has created open jumpshots for Sam, Joey Sacar, and Cain that they are 1/10 on. It's created bunny opportunities for Ed and Sacar that they are 1/4 on. The defense has been really good except for two lapses that I've seen. Bailey was left on an island once that led to a three and poor rotations led to another three.
FTs matter. 55% of our points from the line.
Honestly (just because we apparently have to say we are being honest based on the last three posts), you could use either of the Hausers to make a how to video for shooting free throws. Of course they will miss the next one
Didn't think we could look worse than Wednesday. Whew lad.

Yes. FTAs do matta. And it is better to make them than to miss them.
Maybe MU is purposely playing like this today knowing they will still win, and don't want to give Kansas too much "good" film to watch.

We look a lot better actually. Defense is locking them down. Offense is finding open shots that aren't falling. Indiana was scoring at will and didn't let us get any clean looks.

A glance at the box score (no video for me) and WOW - where the heck is our offense!?! Thanks TAMU for your summaries.
There better be at least one inanimate object destroyed in the home team locker room at halftime
What game are people watching where they think our defense is playing well? Our defense is largely terrible outside of a few possessions.

You have no clue. There's a reason why Wojo struggles repeatedly as a coach. Yanking a guy out from starting rotation 2:30 into a game because he misses two clean 3-point shots is terrible coaching. That sure as hell doesn't happen to Markus. Cain shooting 40% from 3. He should take those shots.
Feel free to probe my post history from end of last season and cautioning everyone that losing Rowsey was going to be a major blow, and would greatly hamper Markus and Sam.
The standard Wojo fanboys of course disagreed.
We lack athleticism and without a dynamic guy like Rowsey to create pure hell for the opposition's defense, this is what you get.

Just curious, what are everyone's thoughts if we hit 4 of our wide open 3s instead of 0. And 2 wide open 5 footers.
I generally think the offense was fine outside of missed shots. Not great, but fine.
I expect to win this by 15+
26 points on 25% shooting, 0 for 9 from three, against this team. That's not good. Expect that to change in second.
Theo again, for third game in a row, quick fouls and to bench. Same as last year. Morrow short time at the 5, but mostly Joey.
Markus took only 4 shots, with three turnovers.
Brendan Bailey is 1 for 13 in his short career.

I'm not kidding. Part of that is how bad we were against Indiana. But we are tied because we can't hit the broadside of a barn right now. I'd need to go back and count to be sure, but I'm pretty sure on wide open jumpers:
Cain: 0/4
Joey: 0/1
Sam: 0/2
Bailey: 0/1
Anim: 0/1
Ed: 0/1
On Bunnies:
Ed: 0/2
Joey: 0/2
Sacar: 1/3
Those were all good shots as the result of good offense. Defensively, we've held them to 34% shooting. I saw three defensive breakdowns leading to threes and one bad transition d leading to another three. Their 5 2pt FGs have all been contested, three of them very long range 2P FGs.
This is a dreadful shooting performance. Everything else has looked solid. We have even a bad shooting night and we're winning by double digits.

I understand that some people want us to be calm and relax, but why shouldnt expectations be high?
The other piece of this. Markus didn't take his first shot until 10 minutes in. Clearly trying to find his teammates more. When we get shooting performances like this that could reinforce the idea that Howard has to do it all himself.
To be clear, if we continue to miss shots in the 2nd half and don't put the game away then I'll be very concerned. I just expect to be better since the offense has flowed better.

I'm afraid of what Kansas and LU or Tenn will do to this team. MU looks unatheltic as all get out. Really slow.
We've attempted more 3 pointers than 2 pointers. Design some plays and take the ball to the f-ing rack. This is pathetic.
If there are stats that can portray this defensive performance in a positive light the categories are obviously worthless misleading stats and should be stricken from the statistical universe

The fact that Wojo thought Markus should play the point when he's not a strong ball handeler, not a good off the dribble shooter, and a turnover machine, makes me seriously question his coaching ability

He's not. It's whatever fits his narrative. See "slap of five."

We've attempted more 3 pointers than 2 pointers. Design some plays and take the ball to the f-ing rack. This is pathetic.
that's what basketball is now like it or not.
Good lineup
Markus
Joe C
Joey
Sam
Theo
Just that Theo had foul issues again and wasn't clicking. Good for Joe, came out of shell

He just needs to ignore Wojo and play his game. Against UMBC, he took a wide open three and missed horribly. Wojo yanked him immediately and yelled at him. I think he has been playing scared since then.
I thought Wojo did a good job pulling him to the side early in the game, leaving him in the second half to play through it. If you are going to criticize, you should also acknowledge the good coaching moves, too.
Chartouny showing up and doing well.
Wojos just trying to lull Kansas into a false sense of security.

How's that Alabama Citadel game going? Please don't bring your silly analogies here.
Reeks of desperation to try to equate a National Championship Alabama football team coached by Saban, being off to a slow start to an MU basketball team under Wojo.
You miss the point. If the #1 team in the country playing at home against THE CITADEL can be tied at the half, that should tell you it can happen to anyone, including Marquette. But as also stated, Bama would win and so will we.
If you want a different example, Notre Dame trailing at the half at home to 1-3 William and Mary. ND currently up 2 points with 11 minutes to play.

Lulled me into a nice nap.

Got to give him until year 8.
No year 13- the McCarthy precedent. Cheese heads are very patient.

Wrong. They came in the same recruiting class. Wojo hell bent on square peg on round hole playing Cheatham at PG most of that season.
I don't think this is correct. Traci ran the point whenever he was in the game with Cheatham and got 24 minutes a game.
The funny thing about that was we were only 4 points from covering. Regression to the mean.
Just an easy 19 point win not sure what anyone was worried about

Might be the worst analogys in the history of the internet.
Nice stretch run at end to pull away.
Whew. I just remembered I have something that will prevent me from being near a TV or radio on Wednesday night. I don't know what it is yet, but I'll definitely not be able to get to a TV.
Also, KenPom has us down for a 85-64 win. So really, not far off at all.
In the end, we win by 19, and if we had made a few wide open shots in the first half, we would have won in laugher by a 30+ margin and held a team averaging 91 points per game to 55.

I see people use examples like these all the time(and not bashing you at all for it), and I always think...so what if it CAN/DOES happen to those teams, I couldn't care less about OTHER teams and what happens to them, I ONLY care about what happens to MY teams, and regardless of what happens to other teams, I don't want/like that sh*t happening to my teams.

Nice to see the guys battle through their frustration; especially JC. Our defense is still pretty bad. They had so many open 3s and made them which is what made the game so close for most of the game. As for the offense I'm encouraged as the scoring was a team effort. Still don't expect to win on Wednesday. Just hope it is more competitive and that we're not blown out in the first 5-10 minutes.

It's working.
Had to tape the game but saw the score progression. This should be a fun read 😂

This is flat out wrong. Traci played 59% of the minutes, all of them at the point. Duane and Cheatham split the rest of the point duties. Yes, Haani played some point, but it wasn't his primary position. Our four most frequent lineups in the last 5 games of the season (all Pomeroy shows) had both Carter & Cheatham on the floor together with Carter at the point. Our 6 most frequent lineups had Carter at the point.
Traci was the point guard. Duane was the backup, Haanif got spot minutes at the position.
