Cuse without Melo, as well.
Wayns had slowed down a bit, as of now it looks like Nova is playing alright without him.
Unless ND is channeling their inner MU, currently down 25-12
Is that Doris?
She seems way too in love with Nova...
What say you, Godzilla?
Well, Nova's got a big early lead. It would be huge for us: gets us alone in second place, better for the RPI since we played Nova twice, would likely get those two wins back to being top 100 RPI wins, ND still has to play at Georgetown which combined with our home game against Georgetown gets us better chances of a top 3 finish. If things play out how it seems they're going, the #4 seed has a rough BET schedule if they have to play #5 Louisville in the first game, and if they win #1 Syracuse in the semifinal. A #2 or #3 might get to play USF or Cincinnati in the quarterfinals then Georgetown or Notre Dame in the semis which is as nice a path as any to the finals.
I don't know who made that block for Nova, but he is now my favorite player in college BBall. Swats the ball in the air and it doinks right off of Timmy Higgins head. I hope he called that one! ;D

If Stan Heath finishes top-4 with USF, then there's no doubt he deserves it. The Irish weren't supposed to be title-challengers, but they were supposed to be good. USF, on the other hand, was picked 14th in the league and is in contention for a double-bye.
With that lot, no doubt Heath's job to date has been far more impressive.
Nova ties it at the end! Come on, Wildcats, you can get this in overtime!

2-Nova will jump into the RPI Top 100 so two more quality wins on our computer records

Buzz, JTIII, and Brey are all in contention, but I just don't see any way a top-4 USF team doesn't do it for Stan Heath. Honestly, any of the other three could win the league, and it still wouldn't be as impressive as the Bulls finishing fourth.
Won't they have a few 6th year guys next year? I think Martin and Abromitis (sp?). They could be solid, but I think we just caught them on a bad day. They are good, but not 20 points better than us.

Absolutely, and they'd deserve an NCAA berth. But let's be real, for a top 4 finish they need to go 4-1 or 5-0 down the stretch. Given their schedule I'd think 1-4 or 0-5 is more likely.

At least she didn't obsess over a coach's armpit sweat.

If Wayans plays in this game, there's no way ND would have been able to come back. That freshman point guard for 'Nova kill them the last 10 minutes of the game.

According to this week's Tuesday Truth's ND's efficiency margin was 4th in the BE. They were as close to us (2nd) as they were to 6th place Cincy. They will probably be about the same next week as well with the two games this week. Marquette's will obviously be better. I think ND is good, not as good as MU or Georgetown.

In all honesty, I think the mods do a great job of running this site and am glad that a free site is much better than a paid, blindly loyal site. But how in the hell is a guy like this still around when a guy like chicos is banned? It makes absolutely no sense. I'm not saying chicos shouldn't be banned, but at least he brought insight into the board. I don't mind a good (or even a not-so-good debate...see: The Equalizer), but this fool is clearly a (UW or ND) troll and brings absolutely nothing valuable to this board. I get that he hasn't called out posters names like chicos did, but the crap he says, especially what he said about Vander, is an absolute joke. If this guy isn't all about getting attention for himself then I don't know anybody who is, including chicos and hoopaloop. Just because those 2 sometimes go over the edge and aren't always 100% positive towards Marquette, at least they give credit when it is due to Marquette and their criticisms are typically true, although they sometimes overexaggerate them. Godzilla is just a blind troll.

Why do people keep saying this? There's a lot of b-ball left to play. I could easily see MU going 4-0 down the stretch and ND and Gtown both going 3-1 (the 3 most likely contenders for the #2 spot). We'll see.

MuMac says how lucky the Irish are. I don't recall him saying how luck MU was to play Louisville in Milwaukee without two of their best players. The Irish went to Louisville and won. It all works out in the end. They beat us by almost 20 points. They beat Syracuse. They beat West Virginia on the road, a task we still have to accomplish later this season.
Earlier in the season, they looked pretty bad. Losing to Maryland, Missouri, Georgia, Gonzaga by large margins. They played Indiana so-so but lost. Losing to Rutgers was another one. Since then, they have found a way. Give them their due. They have some tough games coming up and we can still pass them up.

You said Notre Dame was lucky because they played Syracuse without Melo, Marquette at home and Nova without one of their best players. You didn't apply that same gripe to Marquette who played Louisville at home without Two of their best players. That was the criteria example in my reference. You can hold any view you want and I respect it. Equally, we can challenge it, in a nice way. Respect is what this should all be about. You were the one that got defensive and started talking about people on ignore and such.
After Notre Dame's impressive win over West Virginia last night, are you still unimpressed? Give them their due is my opinion.

You think of an argument 4 days later and you need to necro a thread just to get the last word in? Way to go, champ.

No, didn't read his response until today and responded. ND's performance last night prompted me to come back to the thread as Mac has been unimpressed with them. Fair question to ask if that is still the case?
Personal attack, personal attack, yadda yadda yadda.
Getting back to the topic. ND is not lucky they have improved by leaps and bounds. Alot of there inexperienced players have stepped up and they really play team game. Aditionally, and maybe most importantly, Jerian Grant is a flat out superstar. Should be first team all-Big East and i hate ND more than the next guy but that kid is exploding into being a superstar and will most likely be an AA and one of the top if not the best player in the BE next year.
NOTE WELL: Whether Hoopaloop is Chicos I know not. I think we can all see an astonishing similarity.
I care not, hear this: We will not go back to the dark ages, where MUScoop was dominated by a cadre of a handful of people, sniping back and forth because of their mutual hatred.
MUScoop has an IGNORE function. If you don't like what Hoopaloop has to say, use it.
Drawing a line in the sand here, if we see any more bickering, meaning you HAVEN'T put the guy on ignore, you'll be enjoying a nice vacation from the board.
Consider this your only warning.

Agree - ND is the real deal. To cite differently, is foolhardy.

Plenty of people hoop, but no one hoops like Hoop hoops. Better off just asking him "why you hoopin'?"
There are plenty of things on this board that I don't read for a few days. Sometimes, I see something in a thread from weeks ago that could be addressed. But if a thread dies, may as well let it die. I have no personal qualm with Hoopaloop, and don't believe he is CBB like so many seem to, but to him, I say this: When a thread has passed by the wayside, let it go. Are you that obsessive about "winning" the argument that you have to revive threads that are clearly past their expiration date? If it's on the first two pages, go ahead, post in there, but once it gets past that point, it has to be pretty darn important to keep it going. Otherwise, it's just arguing for arguing's sake, and that doesn't come across as very mature.
Again, no gripe, and I have no intent of ignoring you as I still feel there is merit in many of your posts (as I did with CBB), but once a discussion dies, let it die. Simple message board etiquette.

I'm going to purposely start threads about Tom Crean now.

When does a discussion die? There are times I don't visit for a week or two, especially in the off season. Contributing to the thread automatically pushes it to the top. I don't agree with your two page solution because after a game two pages can be filled up quickly for a thread that only started the day before the game. Maybe we should just delete all threads then after two days or two pages? We had a whole thread here earlier this week where people were going back 3 and 4 years to pat themselves on the back or rip what they were saying from four years ago. Was that ok?

If you don't visit for a week or two, it's safe to say the discussions you were having then are dead. During the season, that usually happens in 2-3 days because of the traffic. When you belabor an argument that everyone else clearly moved on from (whether after a week in the offseason, or a couple days during the season), it makes you look like a petty sniper who just can't abide not being the one to get the last word in.
It's not the fault of other posters that you didn't visit the site for a few days or a few weeks. You chose not to visit the site, and thus you chose to cede that point of the argument, unless you want to seem like the petty guy who won't let anything die.
2 pages...3 pages...anything beyond that, other than maybe during the tournament weekends, that's old news. When you choose to drag it up, you choose to come across as petty. I'm not saying you are, I'm saying that's how you will appear. That's just what I've seen after numerous years spent as a member and moderator on forums just like this one.

Yes, yesterday's win at ND impressed me. As I stated, it is my opinion and they very well could prove me wrong. You acted a tad immature to my opinion with your attacks and frankly, I am done with responding to you. Can't wait for the dazzling response that you and chico's come up with in another 4 days. ::)

Appreciate your view. I don't agree with it, but appreciate it. I noted this morning 9 threads that were days (months or years) old that came up again from other posters that felt it was needed to add to them. That is how a message board works, it is a written history that builds on. When you say people have moved on, that is your opinion but may not be shared by all, as illustrated in all the threads that came up today that were old or beyond your guidelines. To each their own, but I respect your point of view.
