1.  Kolek is the gold standard.   He reminded us that 'oh, yeah, he's a first team all American.'   If he doesn't play tonight, MU loses by 20.
2.  MU did everything right but missed a lot of good looks.   (Robin Leach voice) I don't know why.    (I have an idea.   Later)
3.  Keeping up with the Joneses was easy early.   They got better.
4. Kept hoping for Chase to get going.  No Rolls Ross.
5.  Joplin misery (Missouri) on offense.   Illinois face guarded his 3 pt looks and celebrated when he drove.
6.  Some swag in that Illinois Goode bag.
7. 4 guard sets were a luxury MU could not afford tonight.  Illinois is too big.
Enough.   The jokes were fun.
8. MU shot from distance like it was their first road game of the season in a venue they had never seen before.
9.   Hack an Oso is coming.
10. Gold was the best sophomore tonight.
11.  MU beat a ranked team on the road in an absolute grind.   Seashells, balloons, diamonds, pearls.

...and caviar dreams
Biggest concern is the hack an Oso. He needs to covert at a higher clip.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind.

He is a senior but could choose to take a COVID year.

If any of you have 15 minutes to kill, this Illinois message board game thread is a treat to read through.

They were in complete awe of Marquette last night. Cool to read an outside perspective while recalling what portion of the game they are commenting on.

My favorite and he’s not wrong.
Tyler Kolek looks like an extra from the movie Pleasantville.

I would cast him is one of the Hickory players in "Hoosiers".
Have some patience, FFS.

The Illini fans in my section really didn't think much of Coleman Hawkins.
Audible groans every time he shot a jump shot.

Or put another way, the Covid year was excused already for eligibility purposes, therefore his eligibility classification is currently junior. No waiver, special election, etc needed. Already a done deal
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Someone should tell the webmaster of Marquette's website because he's listed as a senior.

That was a fun read.  Lots of great comments by the Illini fans.  Let’s take care of business against UCLA and then we’ll see how we match up with Kansas.

I did laugh at one comment in their post game thread though.

A fan said they win that game if some dude who is redshirting would have played....

Yup a guy who is deemed not ready to play at all this year is so lock down on D he would have stopped our guards(his words).

So that player they are referring to is Sencire Harris.  Harris actually played all freshman year and then year 2 decided to redshirt. The general theme on the board was "Harris could lock down Tyler". Even if that was the case (it isn't) There are so many other guys behind TKO that would have been issues and can score.

That thread really highlights how frictionless our offense is. You get used to it watching it every game, but our ball movement and efficiency really stands out to opponents fans.

Watching games not involving MU also highlights it.   I hope it can continue post Kolek and Oso.
