I didn't really "defend" what he said in the cuddles. What I said was that years and years of watching the cuddles of coaches from all over the country never gave one iota of insight into any real strategy or motivational stuff. Whether we're talking about K or Beard or Self or Cal or Wright or Wojo or any of 'em ... it was all just a few seconds of coach-speak every time.So of all the things to criticize Wojo for, him saying the same dopey coach-stuff that everybody else did seemed ridiculous IMHO.
It was nowhere near as good as hearing Mick Cronin say, "Play really hard! You really gotta play hard!" Those "reallys" ... now THOSE were inspiring cuddles!
Did he bow out? I thought someone may have mentioned something about him not being allowed to be in NYC.
Whoa whoa whoa! When the hell did this happen? Perhaps Coach Smart isn't interested in your opinion on personnel matters but many here believe their counsel to be both insightful and impactful. Advice from the uninformed can be just as meaningful as those from one with actual knowledge. The words of a fool who presupposes wisdom is a lighthouse that cuts through the fog to steer the ship away from the shoals of disaster and Scoop has many such experts. Coach Smart would do well to check on Scoop periodically to hear these pearls of wisdom to inform his stewardship of our beloved Warrior program.
How dare you suggest that Wojo's televised time out exhortations were without merit! Hearing Wojo implore his charges to, "Play hard! You gotta play hard!" took me straight back to Fallujah. I was ready to kick some ass, I tell you!
Oh please no. If he comes on here he’s not going to want to stay.
Word is that the thought of having to deal with IWB scared the sh1t out of Shaka and chased him away. It took him 7 years to realize that 'IWB as a concept' is nothing more than a dozen guys pontificating about Marquette Hoops to each other. Frankly, it will take Shaka a New York second to realize that Scoop offers no particular insight on anything, much less college basketball. If taken in the tongue-in-cheek spirit in which it should be intended then he will see that it is a benign outlet for the ill-informed and the Great Unwashed.
Again, the assumption is that Shaka will only bring in high-4-stars and 5-stars, that he doesn't need or want any role players, any guys who are "good in the room," etc.So adios to Perez, Oso, Elliott, Akanno, Kam Jones ... because Shaka is gonna have 8 or 9 new 5-stars playing alongside DJ, Garcia, Lewis and Mitchell this season. Can't wait to see us win the 2021 national title, nu?!?!82You never cease yo amaze us.
Restraining order?
With 4 open scholarships, I don't think Shaka needs to free up any spots this year.Everyone gets a chance this year to show what they've got. Then see what happens next year.
TAMUI do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.
Yeah, reminds me of the Nam, where a common refrain was we kicked Charlie's ass, or we will kick Charlie's ass. Sometimes that happened but other times water buffalo had to be included in the body count.
I'm sensing a new Scoop motto here.
Where lying was institutionalized and revisionist history became the norm. Now we live in a house of smoke and mirrors.
Shaka gotta get Schwify next season eh?
I believe the correct term is "Shake him loose"
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
As an only modestly unwashed, you’ve helped me realize my lack of commitment to this board.
That was my first guess as well.
“uncircumcised Philistines”. Adopting this term for the scoop intellectuals.
