Pretty crazy that people would trust this. Just watching this video would make me not get on that thing for even a 50 foot dive. Hope a good results come of this, but it's looking pretty unlikely.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29co_Hksk6o
Unless they miraculously survive, I hope they had a sudden blowout that made their deaths relatively quick and painless.
Not great. https://twitter.com/phil_lewis_/status/1671263342009401345?s=46&t=ppua9BCUAa7dWM9-SthPmg
It would be a blow in via implosion, but yeah, pretty much instantaneous if that is the case.
I'd consider paying $250k to go out that way
Big question with these is since they don’t have windows, what is the point?
Killer manatees.
While I can't imagine how horrific it must be for the individuals on the Submersible, I also can't help but notice the disparity in how we are responding. Millions are being spent for this search and rescue. But migrant ships go missing all the time, and most countries just look the other way. Canada is saying the cost doesn't matter, its about saving lives. But we let people starve around the world, or die because they can't afford insulin or access to medical care. It is a bit enlightening on what we will spend money on to "save lives" and what we just ignore. I personally, think we should do everything we can to save any and all lives, and hope that the people on Titan are rescued. But I wish the world cared equally about all lives.

Never too soon.
What a pathetic attempt at humor
Terrible.
If I die after signing a contract saying I may die, especially attempting something like visiting a sunken ship 3,800 meters in a device without any safety inspection, feel free to mock me
The risk isn’t the issue - It’s more so the trivializing loss of life because the passengers are well to do.
Nailed it.
I don’t know that it’s people trivializing the deaths due to their wealth. I think it has more to do that there were obvious red flags that showed this was likely to happen.
Yeah, I mean when the world's attention is focused on five rich guys who died in a sub standard submersible to visit the remains of a passenger ship that sunk 100+ years ago, versus the hundreds of migrants who sank to the bottom of the Mediterranean a few days ago trying to make a better life for themselves, I don't really want to hear lectures on trivializing people's deaths.
Yea. But those rich folks did things the right/legal way
Correct. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. No one mentioned the kids who starved to death this week in Yemen, nor any of the other countless tragedies that occur daily. But heaven forbid someone make a joke about five dead people who ignored warnings and met their death instantly and painlessly.
What aboutism
Lol...nope. Try again.
Sorry - instead of saying what about the poor people who died in a similar nautical mishap recently, I should’ve said please consider. Good point.
Nope. Not there yet. Going for a third try are are you just a simple person with simple thoughts?
