HA- the filter changed C rean to Judas in the link!

Does the reverse work?  If I type in Judas does it come out Creen?   ;)

Problem is that is messes up the link

Hmmm...that's funny - but I suppose we should fix that...

From a quote of his it sounds like he was ready to commit to MU until Crean got the IU job.  So how exactly is IU helping his recruiting?  Seems like so far it's exactly the same as it was at MU.  The IU faithful might be happy with that level of recruit for now, but if he doesn't land 5 star recruits soon he'll be shown the door quite unceremoniously.  I hope that happens.

augoman

thing is, crean hasn't landed anyone of size for a while, but blew copious amounts of smoke up our collective asses about his 'consolation' recruits.  Whomever handled his PR was superb.  He even turned our pressbook into an advertisement for himself.  We were all content to let him, as we felt the 'rub-off' promotion of MU was a good thing.  Now he's elsewhere and they think (according to their boards) he is capable of landing great bigs.  He's been feeling the pressure of his bullshit and braggadoccio for a while and promoted himself for every job opening that came along.  The reason for his "it's Indiana!" exclamation is he, too, is surprised that he landed the job.

am i taking crazy pills?  If cr ean would have gotten this guy to come to mu, everyone would have said, "Another 6'8?  Why the hell can't cr ean bring in any big men?"  I'm guessing he'll construct his teams there the same way he did here, and until his guards are athletic AND can shoot will never be a threat to win it all.

I disagree, he'll get some bigs there that he didn't get at MU.  He tried like crazy to get Butch and Stiemsma and was recruiting Anderson very hard.  He lost all of them to the big state school.  At IU, he's at the big state school and will land those types of kids due to that built in advantage.

Do not be surprised when he lands some bigs and everyone here starts saying "why didn't he land those 6'10" guys here".  It will take awhile because of the sanctions, but he will get them.

I'll use this metaphor again, the bigs will be flinging themselves at tc like asian carp at a Mississippi fisherman.   His only problem will be whether he has enough boat.     Like it or not, we are going to discover just how good a coach tc is.   Was MU holding him back or holding him up?

Yeah you are probably right, but I still think this guy comes here and we would all be hearing 'Oh great another guy too small to play at the 5.'

Dog, at 6'8", 230lbs, he'd be the largest recruit at MU in quite a while.

Sounds a lot like Amoroso. Wonder how he'll feel after Crean bolts IU for the next best job...It's MSU...It's MSU

One has to go all the way back to 6'10" 245 Chris O'Tule to find a bigger one. ::)
