Totally agree that you can be very grateful for what Crean has done AND be very angry that he is leaving.  I do NOT wish him well.  I hope he fails miserably and realizes how good he had it here.
I don't think the student section at IU will be cheering for him.  Don't think the IU faithful will be happy with one and done in the NCAAs.

He won't be one and done there becuase he's at a bigger program where he'll get better recruits.  That is the whole point.  It's why it's a better job that an ambitious person would take, an ambition that he needed to be a succesful coach here.  As much as we like to think that just anyone can bring 5 star athletes here it's not the case.  He'll be able to do that in indiana.

Thank you Coach.
I wish you would have stayed. I wish you had continued to build our program and become a staple of Marquette basketball, our Coach K (although there would still be Al up there of course).
I wish you well in Bloomington. It will probably be rough early on, but I believe you will succeed and hopefully make at least 1 B11 team play more exciting ball. It's unfortunate with the potential our team has for next year that you won't be around. But I understand that IU is a better program than us historically and these things happen.

But I wish more than anything you will get up to that podium at IU tomorrow and say "April Fool's mother*******!"

Yes, thank you Tom Crean for bringing MU to the national spot light, which you have done.

But you are a sleezy man for leaving with 9 years left on your contract and deserting you team, and more importantly your junior class which will most likely all return next year.  That is not something that a friend and a mentor does.  \

And so you wouldn't have been mad if he left in 2 year?  oh wait there would be other kids who are JR's and so's and he'd have 7 years.  ANd in 4 years he'd have 5 years left and kids who are jr's.

You would never feel happy, never not upset, he made a choice based on what he thought was best for him and his family.  appriciate what he did, be sad he had to go, but he has to do what he thought was best for him.  The same way every person on this board makes choices.

Slander!  Our next years senior class is the best it has probably ever been and for Tom to leave them now is low.  And yes, if he left in two years I would not be as upset as I am now.  Ass.

Thank you Tom Crean for 1 tournament win during my time at Marquette

Crean did good for us - or we would not care that he's leaving.  We did not mind when Duliet was let go.  We mind Crean leaving because he's good, and put MU back on the b-ball map.  Personally, I really thought he would make it his career - with the long term contract, lots of money, a program that is building - I really thought he would stick.

But that's just pipe-dreaming by me.  Money is thinker than loyalty, and really, his job will in many ways be easier.  It's not easy recruiting kids to Milwaukee when they could go to UNC or Texas, FSU etc.  He will have an easier time recruiting.

But I'm still upset he left us, becuase I really beleived he'd stay.  So, I promise myself never to do that again.  Any coach anywhere (excpet Coach K) is leaving sometime for somewhere.

That's it.  We just need to be as relentless in our pursuit of someone BETTER than Crean as we were on defense.  We can't settle for less.  It's time for Marquette to UPGRADE.

You should be thankful. When I was at MU we only made the tournament once (Crean's first trip).

Our last coach underachieved with a solid team my freshman year (Hutch's senior year) and sh*t the bed after that. So maybe you should get some perspective and genuinely be thankful.

I have never wished ill upon someone and their family. However, PRN, I wish ill-fated times upon you and your family.

And I'm sure Puerto Rican Nightmare gives a sh!t what you think.

Ugh.

Think of it as the palate cleanser between Crean's unending stream of I love me sessions being run these days on all the networks. This is the refreshing cup of sorbet between savory courses, designed to eliminate the heavy, turgid taste of the previous dish so that the next may be enjoyed with a fresh perspective. Unfortunately, the next is more of the same and therefore the diner should look for a digestif - calvados or grappas to prevent heartburn, indigestion or even nausea as yet another course of Braised Tanned Tommy is placed before an already over-served diner.

Seriously? What is your obsession with reviving dead threads? This was 11 days old. The discussion to be had was had a week and a half ago.

Okay...new term. Any time someone bumps a thread that is 10+ days old and clearly dead, it will heretofore be known as "Hooping". So instead of asking why someone bumped that old thing, we can ask "Hey man, why you Hooping?"

In response to a former MUSCOOP ID.
