The irony is that Ben Braun was considered an MU possibility years ago as he is from Milwaukee I believe.

And, if I recall correctly, Braun turned down Wisconsin, forcing them to settle for Bo Ryan.
You gotta wonder if Braun would still have a job today if Pac 10 officials knew the rules concerning shots from behind the backboard.

Braun is from Chicago's north suburbs. He went to the same high school as Todd Townsend (New Trier). He attended Wisconsin.

Would somebody like to dispute this?

Thanks for the clarification.  I knew he had Wisconsin ties, but I thought they were Milwaukee....much appreciated.

I'll bet we coud hire him as an assistant for $200K

only if Crean called a press conference to announce he's paying for his airfare. :D

I heard Crean had Braun fired in order to get his own name circulated more in the coaching carousel rumor mill....only so he can call (i.e. force) a press conference to say he is not interested in the Cal job....and that he just saved a bunch of money on his car insurance by switching to Geico.....he plans on donating the money saved towards the soccer stadium....but we won't find that out until he forces MU to hold another press conference that will be billed as a huge announcement by Scout and hosted at the Al.

Of course, he also loves the golden eagle mascot too.   ::)
