What was up with the switch?  I was at the bar, saw that, and scared the others I was with, for the simple fact that I knew what the coach drank.  However, wonder why he switched?  A deal between Coke and the BE Tournament?

pure genius stuff by Bill Simmons, remember to read day 2

Either a deal with the BE, or the Garden is a Coke establishment. Either way, I don't like it.

I noticed it too. I believe there was only one brief shot of TC drinking the diet Coke. My first thought was it dosen't look or feel right; second thought was it would wind up here as a brief mention and only we would notice or care to comment.

wheresthecake?

It was also the case in last year's BE tourney.  I'm pretty sure Coke is one of the sponsors of the tourney.  I'm surprised he's even able to function during a game without diet Pepsi.

Thought the same. As an avid diet coke fiend, I even mentioned it to my spouse.  We both thought the MSG or Big East had a deal with Coke.

Knowing how TC is always prepared, I bet he filled the Diet Coke can with his own stash of Diet Pepsi.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

Pretty sad that several of us noticed that.
As a Pepsi fan, even sadder that MSG has a contract with Coke to sell exclusive Coke products.
Typically venues (or whoever their food/concessions vendor is) will partner with one or the other for exclusive rights.  From a biz standpoint, hardly does the cost of the contract justify the volume sold in even the most popular of venues.  The spend is valued from the marketing side; which judging from this small sample of posters on this board is/was successful enough that the brand was recognized.

As superstitious as he is and seeing as we beat SHU, sans Diet Pepsi, I say keep on slurping that Diet Coke, boy!

If our FT and FG percentages are better when he drinks Diet Pepsi, I say lets get him a Diet Pepsi...

ZiggysFryBoy

He should try Diet Dr Pepper.  Tastes just like regular Dr Pepper.   8-)
