That first half was the best US performance in like 8 years.  Absolutely relentless, clinical, constant pressing.  Just gorgeous to watch.  For all the criticism and up and down expectations, Pulisic was an absolute superstar controlling the game.  I'm hoping his sub was just precautionary about a little tweak he picked up given the game/score situation.

Balogun was sensational, my god hes an immense talent.  Hes only 24, we haven't even seen his ceiling yet.

Tillman was a bit wasteful but he was the engine after CP subbed out.  Really solid work from him.

And what a perfect ending.  For all his club drama, inconsistency, and injuries...Reyna always turns into a beast for the USMNT.  And holy hell what a goal, absurd technique, perfect capper to regain momentum after a frustrating second half

Balogun's second was a thing of beauty. Perfectly timed run, the strength to hold off the challenge, and a lovely upper 90 finish. But Reyna's was the best team goal I think I've ever seen us score. 27 consecutive passes in the buildup. Even Freese got a touch.

Who knows what the next few weeks will bring, but that was a moment to remember.

Convincing first half, I would say poor second half. The first half pressure what a thing of beauty, relentless, composed, really a perfect half of soccer. I am not a Reyna fan at all, but what a goal, super creative, super technical, just outstanding.

Thought Paraguay would put up more of a fight, their defense was brutal, completely lost. Second half much better for them, they ratcheted up the pressure, we were poor on the ball, lazy first touches, out of sorts. Pulisic does so much for the spacing and flow even without the ball. When he came out, we got more defensive, we were way tighter in formation than we needed to be. Hope he is okay.

Good win, lots to build on, crowd was awesome, was an important win in the group, might just ride the momentum graphic...whatever the heck that was. Solid win.

A World Cup referee has been accused of making a "White power" hand gesture when match coverage cut to the video referee studio during Germany's 7-1 victory over Curaçao on Sunday.

The Australian White supremacist Brenton Tarrant made the symbol during a 2019 courtroom appearance following his arrest for murdering 50 people in a shooting at mosques in New Zealand.

Australian referee Shaun Evans appeared to place his hand into the position Sunday when the cameras cut to the studio.

A FIFA spokesperson said the organization was aware of the incident but declined to comment further. The Athletic also extended the right of reply to the official via FIFA.

The anti-discrimination Fare network, which specializes in challenging inequalities in football, released a statement on Sunday night. It said: "Advice from our experts is that the gesture used clearly resembles an upside down 'OK' hand symbol used as a 'White power' symbol in global far-right circles.

"A global television audience should not be subjected to extremist far right individuals using neo-Nazi symbols as they prepare to watch a match. Clearly this official should have no further role to play in this World Cup."
