I'm not British.

Holy sh*t. Now THAT'S a goal.

Turn the game on its head! Pulisic driving the game now love it

Seeing some encouraging stuff. I was complaining before about the hesitancy to take a shot on goal at the top of the box but that makes me feel better

This US team better score a ton because I don't think this defense is gonna be impressive and Tim Howard isn't standing in the back

Miles Robinson is a MAJOR liability. Loved Pulisic yesterday taking the game by the neck yesterday. Absolutely nothing going for US before he started progressing the ball himself. Direct contribution for the Robinson goal

Nothing worse than losing to our greatest enemy.

Don't know the details and obviously not a medical professional, or even a semi-pro-dentist, but I would think Erikson should just hang up the boots.

I'm in Canada and in a meeting at Honda they brought up listening to President Clinton on the news over the weekend saying it will take decades to undo all the international messes created by the current occupant. He's like Voldemort, no one wants to say his name.

Good story in The Athletic today about why Chicago took a pass on the World Cup.
Among the reasons ... FIFA insisted on a contract clause reserving the right to require installation of a dome over Soldier Field, on Chicago's dime.

What a perfect first game to generate a lot of talking points so people can focus less on the off the field stories.

The relationship between the Algerian National Team and Lawrence, KS is gonna spawn numerous books.  And for good reason, cause this is unreal stuff.

The reasoning for the team staying at the DoubleTree as opposed to a much nicer hotel (it has a pool and allows smoking) was amazing.  Then the videos and interviews around fan support and buzz were great.  Now seeing the videos coming out of their community event yesterday with players kicking around kids, hugging and gently rough-housing with them, etc...  Just what this is all about.

Also, was just commenting to a friend yesterday, social media is also showing a pretty amazing "internet discourse is not real life" dichotomy in real time.  For months leading up to the World Cup, and in the last week, you had a TON of Europeans scoffing at everything about the World Cup.  How they wouldn't travel to US for it (they were never going to anyways), how the US is a violent hell hole, how everyone is fat and arrogant, etc...

Then the last week, you started getting a whole bunch of accounts from Germans, Danes, Swedes, etc... who came early (mostly to the South) for either roadtrips/exploring or attending the warm up friendlies just raving about random Americana.  Waffle House and Buc-ee's, being amazed that Atlanta was in a forest, shocked by the scale and atmosphere at SEC stadiums.  Now you have the Scottish contingent flooding into Boston and having similar positive interactions.  Its just awesome and completely predictable.

Its not whitewashing the US into some utopia where nothing is wrong, but its no different than idiots here in the US talking about various European cities as hellholes, when in reality you're still easily able to having magical experiences in (insert major European capital) and the people fretting aren't actually traveling abroad.

Cynically, I feel like some of the twitter stuff is astroturfed, but I absolutely agree with the sentiment, and I really don't care if some is.

I think that something that many people from abroad don't realize is how absolutely ass easy it is to navigate the roads in the USA.  There are signs everywhere, and GPS works almost everywhere.
