QB development continues to be an interesting watch in the NFL.

Titans and Cam Ward are a mess.  Second coordinator and offense in two years and looks completely loss and the game being way too fast for him.

Bo Nix looks bad, or at least average at best at the moment.

The Chargers brought in Harbaugh to get Herbert to the next level and he is cratering instead.

The Dolphins do not have a QB on the roster who you can win with.

At least Drake Maye has been better the last few weeks and we may see Mendoza in Las Vegas sooner than later but the league sure is full of some poor QB play.

Sure appears as though the defense is ahead of the offense when it comes to college guys moving to the NFL

I think how they're developed in college has a lot to do with the learning curve in the NFL.  Guys are certainly less polished.

It's an interesting issue.  Brian Daboll parlayed his success with Josh Allen into the Giants job.  Maybe Allen was just good regardless and Daboll didn't really help his "development".

Don't think there's an easy answer but QB play this year hasn't been great.

Tyson Bagent being the lone exception, of course

Only one team that started a season 0-4 made the playoffs (1992 Chargers), but the Texans are giving up a second-rounder - potentially high second rounder - for MHJ.
Their schedule definitely eases up the rest of the season, but I really don't get this. A potential top 40, and likely top 50, pick for what's been a mediocre player who's out of a contract in a year is pretty risky.

Gambling on the fact the Jags are the only other threat in the division.  I think the Jags are probably better but they still have 2 games against them.

The more you read about Harrison, though, the less likely I believe the lights go on for him.  I'm not wholly convinced he wants to play football.

I think he was fine with it when he got to run through Purdue's secondary. Not sure he is all that interested in facing NFL defenses.

On one hand I get it.  You're trading for a top 5 pick who is still relatively young and had a good rookie year before things unraveled.  The Texans are thin at WR without Tank Dell and, not for nothing, MHJ's best season at OSU was with Stroud throwing him the ball.

But even beyond the contract piece, the Texan's passing offense has still been good.  That's not the reason they are losing games, so kind of odd to spend on that portion of team.  Not to mention Tank Dell should be back by November

It is really fascinating the guys who LOVE football and all the grind/build that goes into it...and those who played cause it was fun when they were more athletic/better than everyone else growing up or who slotted into it cause that is what they were "most good" at.  Usually both types of the latter wash out in college, but then again, most don't have MHJ's pedigree and parental experience/push.

I certainly don't want to get on Marvin Harrison's bad side  :o

Had to one up the insanity that was Joe Brady clock management at the end of the first half.  Bills get the ball on their 12 with 1:52 left and all 3 TOs.  2 yard rush on 1st down.  Let the clock get all the way down to 1:11, complete a 7 yard pass.  3rd and 1...let the clock run all the way down to 0:37 before panicking and calling a TO.  Then immediately commit a penalty out of the TO and then Allen threw the pick on 3rd and 6.

In a vacuum, ok you are deep in your own territory and you don't want to give the Rams the ball back...but you have an MVP caliber QB and all 3 TOs and a full 2 min, what the hell are you doing?

MU82

Fun game. When Cook fumbled in OT, I was sure the Bills were gonna lose. But the Rams' special teams rarely disappoint!

The clock management was dumb, but it didn't hurt us. The really bad call was going for two just as the fourth quarter was starting. We didn't get it. Therefore, we were tied at the end of regulation instead of being up by one.

Flores isn't a head coach because he didn't fit in with the good ol' boys ...

When now-Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores was up for consideration for head-coaching jobs in 2024, recruiting firm Korn Ferry compiled a memo about the coach that was awash in racial stereotypes, his lawyers said yesterday. The memo came to light as part of Flores' discrimination lawsuit against the NFL and several teams.

The memo said Flores, who is Black, was "polished and a good presenter despite growing up in Brownsville, Brooklyn (same as Mike Tyson)." It also said Flores had gotten opportunities to "socialize and learn how to build relationships with white-collar and upper-class individuals," but added he "can fool you with his polish upwards" and "has little people skills." The case continues to proceed toward open court.
