Quote from: Billy Hoyle on Today at 10:13:25 AMI think this is the first time since 1994 that the semifinals are comprised of only BE charter member schools (Nova was added in 1980, along with Pitt).

Nice factoid, BH.

Quote from: wisblue on Today at 07:57:03 AMI question whether several of the Big East schools are going to be well positioned to compete in the new era of transfers and big paydays.

The days of the Big East being mentioned in the same breath as the four big power conferences might be over.

No reason to think we can't compete with the ACC. We were better than the ACC last year, and closer to the ACC this year than the ACC was to the top 3.

The Big Ten and SEC are probably always going to be a level ahead. Not sure what the B12's future is, but they're firmly ahead of the BE right now too.

Being a private institution competing with large state schools and public schools, with NIL as the tool to essentially buy a good tem (like Indiana Football did) is tough.

We need big do ours to step up, everyone contribute something, and willingness to use the funds to get good players.    Compete with the competition.  On all levels.

You, sir, do not understand how this works.

No.

(There, I think we covered it)

You forgot one.

The Big East tournament has been exceptionally dull this year. There is no real competition for UConn or St. John's and it's not like they're so great.

I won't be seeing the final tomorrow night because I'll be out at a family dinner, and I don't feel bad about it because I don't care who wins. I really dislike both teams and their coaches.

Quote from: wisblue on Today at 07:59:31 AMWhat part of my statement do you think is illogical?

In '03 would have you rather have lost by 1 pt to Kentucky in the E8 than get cooked by Kansas in the F4?
