This entire episode has been a disaster, but if the goal is to stop Iran from monetizing the strait, this is probably  what needs to be done. But it is obviously risky.

Of course, there was no chance Iran was going to give up this leverage via negotiation.

I wonder if it lasts, but the right wing grifter sect has begun moving away from the president since the start of the war.  Add the evangelical/religious grifters to the mix and things get interesting.

My hunch is, those grifters are damaging their base more than the president's base, even if they're the same.
