Yeah, but that was different. The significantly larger "pallets of cash" Iran will receive during this Art of the Deal aren't sullied by being authorized by a Black person.

I think it's safe to say that he stands by any statement that glorifies his false god. 4elder liked to call those he disagreed with "antisemites" even as he worships a guy who had dinner with Nick Fuentes and who said the torch-carrying Charlottesville Nazis included "very fine people."

Nice find.

To answer your question, I'm sure he does. No amount of twisting is too much for them. Somehow, he'd argue Trump giving them $25B+ for literally nothing whatsoever is far better that Obama giving them $1.7B for getting the JCPOA signed.

And JFC, reading through the stupidity of the dentists in that thread is just amazing/infuriating. If there is a bigger fool in the universe than roqqet I don't want to know about it.

The latest on the deal, from the NYT:

The terms of the preliminary agreement between the United States and Iran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz, outline a $300 billon plan for Iran's reconstruction, and lift restrictions on the country's oil exports, according to details described by a senior U.S. official on Wednesday.

But the agreement, whose terms had been unclear since its announcement on Sunday, would push talks about Iran's nuclear program — President Trump's oft-stated priority — into a 60-day negotiation period that could be extended by "mutual consent."

The details were released as Mr. Trump, speaking on the final day of the Group of 7 summit in France, said at a news conference that the deal could be signed as soon as Thursday or Friday, but asserted the right to attack Iran again if he decides it was not abiding by it.

The preliminary deal also calls for the end of military operations in Lebanon, where Israel has been waging a campaign against Hezbollah, although Israel has said it is not a party to the deal. On the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran effectively closed at the war's start, sending oil prices surging, the agreement said Oman and Iran would hold talks over its administration.

The terms were read out loud by a senior U.S. official on condition of anonymity during a conference call with reporters, under ground rules set by the White House. Iranian state media released an identical draft later Wednesday.

The text said that Iran "reaffirms that it shall not procure or develop nuclear weapons," a point Mr. Trump emphasized in a wide-ranging news conference at the G7. Mr. Trump repeatedly said he was ready to attack Iran again if necessary during the summit. "If it doesn't get done in 60 days, that's all right, we'll go back to bombing," he said in his closing remarks. But hours later, on his way to dinner at Palace of Versailles, he told reporters that he did not consider it a hard deadline.

The text said the United States would seek "to make fully available for use the frozen or restricted funds and assets" of Iran upon implementation of the deal. It goes on to say the U.S. government "undertakes to terminate all types of sanctions" against Iran, including those imposed by the United Nations Security Council, "in an agreed-upon schedule as part of the final deal."

Describing the $300 billion for reconstruction, Mr. Trump said in his news conference that the United States would not directly pay funds to Iran, but that the country would be able to sell oil and access billions in the reconstruction plan "only if they're doing things right."

"We're not doing anything, we're not putting up money," he said, adding, "if people want to invest, they can invest."

Mr. Trump also said that the United States would work on a "parallel effort with the Gulf nations to address nonnuclear issues," such as Iran's conventional ballistic missiles.

"They have to have some because other people have some, you've got to have some," Mr. Trump said. He added, "What am I going to do? I'm going to let Saudi Arabia have missiles but they can't have them?"

Mr. Trump also admonished Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over Israel's campaign against the militant group Hezbollah, an Iranian ally, in Lebanon.

"I'm not saying they shouldn't protect themselves, I'm saying when two drones are shot into the desert and drop harmlessly, you don't have to knock down buildings in Beirut," he said. "They could behave better, and frankly they could do a better job."

Mr. Trump made clear that he was concerned by the war's economic fallout, saying he wanted to avoid "catastrophe" that could be caused by a prolonged conflict. "The one president I did not want to be was the late great Herbert Hoover," he said, referring to the president who oversaw the stock market crash of the Great Depression.

So ...

America got absolutely nothing out of the deal that we (and the rest of the world) didn't have before Feb. 28.

Meanwhile, Iran gets "pallets of cash," relaxed sanctions, and tacit permission to rebuild its stock of weapons ... all while facing no firm deadline on its nukes. It also gets to negotiate with Oman on controlling the Strait of Hormuz.

What an embarrassment. No wonder Rubio hates the deal.

Nikki Haley: "Iran wins."

As the terms have become public, the deal is even worse than most thought it possibly could be.

It was a total capitulation by the Expert Negotiator. And none of the lies he's telling as he tries to spin it as pure genius are being accepted by anyone other than those who bow down to him no matter what.

The most blistering attacks are coming from the far right. Lots of MAGAthons are livid. Rubio is beside himself.

It sure seems like, somehow, Rubio is slithering out of the mess even though he was fully on board for this and the other foreign adventure excursions. It certainly helps that the rightwing has settled on the one person in the administration NOT in favor attacking Iran as the real culprit.

I got stuck and had to watch about 10 minutes of the President's stream of...I don't want to say consciousness here because that gives it too much dignity. Maybe a stream of...prattle? I mean, if it wasn't such a serious topic it would be comedy gold. SNL doesn't have to change a word. And then to watch Rubio and Lutnick stand there stoically throughout...I have to believe those guys fight hard to keep from rolling their eyes. I couldn't help myself and LOLed several times at the absurd statements, rapid changes of direction and sheer longevity of his run on "thoughts." I remember back in 2008 when Obama ran against McCain and thinking, "I'm okay if either of these guys win." This is what we get 18 years later.

The stuff he's been saying the last few hours ... the severe cognitive decline is real.

I've learn to never say "Unbelievable" when it comes to the crapola The Worst President Ever does and says ... but this really is pretty unbelievable.

It seriously might be the worst foreign-policy deal a United States president ever made.

Not sure how long it will last, but we are definitely going to be less beholden to Israel. They have somehow managed to become less popular on both sides of the aisle since 10/7/23.
