Got a mailing today from MU .. many changes to announce for STHs.

1. Seat prices/locations are different.  Lowers stay $30, but the seat donation fee is $250, $150, $50, up from $150/100/50.  Ouch for those guys in the center section, who have a million points (meaning they've probably donated a crapload already) and now have to pony up $500 just for the privilege of buying seats.

2. Seats in the upper deck have changed.  Before, the center sections were divided into two areas, $25 and $15.  Something like rows a thru m were $25 .. and I believe they didn't have a seat donation fee.

Now, it looks like the 3 center sections .. the first 10 rows or so have $50/seat donation fees.  But also, the $15 center sections have disappeared, meaning the $25 section goes all the way back to row Z.  (Who wants to sit there, especially for $25 bones?!?)

Now, $15 is only in the corners with no seat donation required.

(Actually, that'll work for me.  I hated ordering $15 tickets, then getting row Z in sec 400.  Now it should hit the lower corners nicely.)

Reseating will be different .. online?  Apparently, instead of going to the BC, you'll go to the Al, pick out a seat, and have it processed there.  There'll also be an open house at the BC to see the sections.

Can't say I like that change one bit!  I liked being able to sit in the new seats, see how they looked.  Yes, yes, there's the magical seat3d.com website, but that's hardly like being there.  Real disappointed in that move.   :-X

I wonder if it was a coincidence that this was likely mailed about 24 hours after our win over Duke?

mu_hilltopper

I got it today, so I assume it was mailed yesterday.

I assume they sent it now because you can donate now and have it count for tax purposes in 2006 .. and the points earned count for next year's reseating.

shaquilvaine

I got it today as well... 24 hours after the NDSU loss. Not sure what you're talking about nightmare.

MUMac

It appears not everyone received it at the same time.  Mine came on Saturday.

ZiggysFryBoy

Mine came today.  The letter said that we were supposed to get a points statement.  I didn't.  Did anyone else?

herboturbo

I havn't recieved anything in the mail yet, is there anyone else out there that hasn't gotton one?

I got it Saturday but no point summary that they said was included.  Just once I'd like to get something from the ticket office that was complete.

PuertoRicanNightmare

FYI - Point summaries have been updated on the gomarquette.com "My Marquette Account" pages.

Also, I saw that there was some kind of notation for game attendance. Are they now assigning points based on attendance?

ToddPacker

Yeah, what's up with that attendance point stuff?  It does not look like it is working yet, but I'm curious to see how that is going to work.  That would be great for someone like me who cannot donate much but who goes to 99% of home games.

My wife and I were very disappointed to see that our mid-court seats in row P went from $15 to $25.  At 20 home games per season that is an increase of $400 per season total.  That's not a small chunk of change.  Who is going to want to sit in the old $15 seats at $25 per when they can just move down and pay an extra $100?  I think a $10 per ticket increase is outrageous.

MUMac

The Point Summaries do not tell you where you fall in %.  Only your points.

Also, in addition to the attendance, there is also a FT%.  What the heck is this?

Yeah, that point summary is pretty wild.  Obviously, there's a new NCAA regulation that allows season ticket holders to take Free Throws for the team.   That may help this team!!  The downside is if you miss, you get bumped to upper deck seats.  So start practicing now.

They will be meeting with each season ticket holder independently at their homes.  They will be bringing a regulation hoop on a truck and setting it up on your driveway or street (which ever is more level) and asking you to take 500 shots from a regulation FT distance.  Then they will ask you to take another 500 shots while pumping Britney Spears "Oops I Did It Again" at you in mix mode at 45dB.  The FT% column indicates how well you did.  The best 2-3 will be eligible for special seats (on the bench) and may even be invited onto the floor in their very own Marquette provided jersey in clutch FT shooting times during games.  In short, it's the latest attempt to fix our FT shooting woes.  Note: offer only pertains to those with at least one year of eligibility remaining.

I emailled the B&G fund to find out what the deal was .. the answer is:  nothing.

The FT% thing, and attendance % thing was from an NBA point template that Ticketmaster used for Marquette.  It will be corrected and removed.  The points rules are exactly what they used to be.

Nothing to see here, move along.

Couldn't find it on my account?  Where did you locate it?  I'm probably staring at it and not seeing it - wouldn't be the first time (just ask my wife)!
