Quote from: JWags85 on April 16, 2026, 09:09:27 AMKawhi has only played 11 more playoff games in the entirety of his 6 years in LA than he did during the Raptors title run season alone. Dude went home to LA, got paid, and turned into a better defending DeRozan, stats with no success

Don't forget all the great endorsement opportunities for minimal work.

Hoping Golden State misses the playoffs. If they are a suitor for Giannis, getting another lottery pick in the mix will help the bidding. Especially with Miami also not making the playoffs.

Also broke numerous league rules to get his bag from the Clippers (as did Ballmer). Punishment eventually, perhaps, though the Silver-led NBA is loathe to punish too severely.

Glad he and the Clippers have completely shat the bed when it comes to postseason results.

Curry will probably get them a game, maybe 2 games. He's still amazing.

But that roster is not built to seriously compete with OKC. If they were the 6 seed I could see them taking a series or two. Not happening vs the Thunder

Unless you are the Bucks and do what most teams are doing.

Thirty years ago today, the Bulls beat the Bucks for their then-record 70th win.

The team quickly came out with hats that said, "70-Something" on them. I got one and gave it to my father-in-law (a huge Bulls fan) for his 70th birthday that year ... and it was his favorite hat until he died well after he was no longer a septuagenarian.

The Bulls had 70 wins.......

LOL. Feels like 40 years.  :D

Since this is a NBA thread, anyone hearing if Donovan is coming back to the Bulls, or coaching period?

I believe Shaka called him for our open Assistant position.

Billy sees value in reacquainting himself to a functional basketball organization.

If only LaMelo had injured 7 or 8 Orlando players, the Hornets might have been able to keep it close.

Wow.  I'd like to see the replay but it looked like a Knicks player body checked a guy on Atlanta to spring Brunson for a wide open three.

MuggsyB

Double wow.  Not an intelligent decision by the Knicks on that missed FT.

Was worried about staying up late enough to watch the TWolves game that started around 9:30pm CT. Fortunately, six minutes in and we're already down by 13. #CoatIsOn #BedtimeAfterWildGame

Allowing 39pts in the 1Q isn't ideal.

MuggsyB

Denver doesn't defend well enough to be a threat to win the whole thing.

Jay Bee

Wow, nice comeback for the Wolves. Hope we can get keeping to the rim and converting. Wolves and Wild both go 1-1 starting on the road...let's get some home wins!!

White Trash's long nightmare is over...Billy Donovan has stepped down.

My guess is that the Bulls' insistance that he remain the coach was keeping the better GM candidates away.

Billy just seemed to 'mail it in' every season. Not sure if he lost his passion for coaching or that the Bulls' organization wore on him. His willingness to continue, via extensions, with the Bulls was a red flag as to his desire to win.

As I have said numerous times, he was not the main or biggest issue with the Bulls. I think the complete house cleaning is good for the Bulls going forward even if Billy goes on to find success in the NBA.

That said, Billy seems like a good guy and I wish him well.

This is similar to the people here who claim Shaka just wanted R and G and didn't care about V.  How often do you see an active NBA head coach leave and take another head coaching job in the NBA?  It's not often.  On top of that, of course he's going to sign extensions.  Why would any coach just let their contract run out?

And if it's sideline demeanor and lack of "energy," that's how NBA coaches are.  There's a reason there are no Danny Hurley's on the sideline of NBA games.  It doesn't work.

OKC did nothing of note to keep Billy, like the Bulls did blocking the Knicks. OKC could have kept Billy if they really wanted him.

Your points on Billy's coaching style are probably fair. I'll let his record speak for itself.

MuggsyB

Wow.  Philly just punked Boston.  Maxey turned on his jets and the C's had no answer.

Wemby concussed in an ugly fall, Spurs lose. He could miss several games. That sucks.
