Game week.  Early line has GB favored.

Good team, which just acquired one of the best players in the world, playing at home ... vs. another good team, but one that lost both coordinators and faces other questions.

I'd have been surprised if the Packers weren't favored.

It is early and GB is at home.  The new coordinator issue is a clickbait media topic.   Morton is a pro who has worked with Campbell before.   Sheppard was groomed for this by Glenn and Campbell.  Glenn tried to poach Sheppard to the NYJ, and Johnson tried to get Morton to Chicago.

If Detroit's defense stays healthy, I look for them to be dynamic bordering on dominant.

Both offenses should be rusty since neither played starters in the preseason.

Detroit's question is how long will it take Ratledge, Glasgow, and Mahogany to gel in the middle of the O-line.   Sewell and Decker have been rasslin' with Hutchinson and a healthy, motivated Davenport all through camp.

I'd argue that the change in coordinators is a legit media topic, not mere clickbait. That doesn't mean the new guys will be bad - they might even be great. But it's a legit topic. You're just close to it because of where you live and the fact that you're a Lions fan. It's not as if it's something that the national media is obsessed with; it's mentioned in Lions previews, as it should be.

If the Lions have even "regular" health this season - in other words, if they avoid the number and severity of injuries to so many key players that happened last season - they should be outstanding. IMHO, some don't understand how incredible their 2024 season was given the injuries that befell the team.

Fair about the co-ordinators.  However, the organization started planning two years ago for the eventual departures of Johnson and Glenn and had their succession and continuity plans in place.

Clearly, I agree about the injuries.

Who the hell cares who's favored? Games start Sunday. Tower starts whining about injuries Monday. Rinse. Repeat.

Hey.  I might start whining before that.

Speaking of injuries, Parsons may need an epidural to play against Deteoit due to lingering back issues.

Okay now I'll change my answer to the Packers. Yeli gave us a nice season.

Whose back is worse?  Yeli or Parsons?
