Marquette legend - clearly hampered in the back half of the season

Huh.
Thanks for being absolutely fearless.  Along with Shaka acknowledging his achilles tendinitis.   Steel.

Tough. Smart. Determined. Team-oriented. Class act. Winner.

Gonna miss Stevie.

What a tough kid and one of my all-time favorites to don the blue and gold!

Stevie4President (in a few years, when he's eligible)  :)

RJax55

Will be interesting to see what his path will be. Could play overseas post-rehab, but timing might not be ideal for next season. Could also see him in coaching or the business world. Good luck to him.

GoldenWarrior11

Warrior. Wishing him a full recovery.

I'd take him as President today.

I'd love to see him join the MU staff once his playing days are over...and I hope that's many years from now.

Wow, hip surgery not exactly common for his age, especially a basketball player. Would be interesting to know what had to be fixed, was it some type of degenerative issue, etc.

Is there any way he could have another year of eligibility?

Stevie's one tough customer.

He would have to sue for it, but others are likely looking at it.

How 'bout Kolek? We could use another season outta him!

This is the first article where someone acknowledges Kam's wrist injury, the second time I have seen Ben's broken finger referenced.
So out of 13 players last season, 6 had injuries that impacted their season.    Stevie, Ben, Chase, Kam, Damarius, and Sean.   Down the stretch, when MU was struggling,  Chase had a bad thumb, Kam a bad wrist, Ben a broken finger, Stevie could barely walk, and Damarius needed groin surgery and had his lateral movement impacted.
Huh.

This team did not have the energy down the stretch that it had in November and December as a result.  Lots of injuries since Tyko got hurt against Vermont after having an almost injury free 22-23 season before that.

Kam, shooting wrist in January.
Chase, shooting Thumb in January.
Ben, broken finger from the first Villanova game.
Stevie, achilles since early December, hip later.
DO, groin since September.

The MU we saw in November, December, and January was the real MU.  From late January on, that was the beat up, banged up, hobbled MU.

A lot of us were saying that Stevie had to be hurt...needing hip surgery was even more hurt than I suspected.

Really going to miss Stevie and Kam.
