I'm complaining because Shaka has continually failed to recognize his lack of abilities. And the counter is "He'll be the 14th or 15th guy" for someone in his fourth year in the program. People defending him on this board don't even think he's good.

Think of him as a good program guy who is 14th or 15th man on rosters that used to have walk ons in that role.

So now that we've determined Fru & Sheek are bench and bit players with Caedin & Josh playing 30mpg then I wonder why they came here at all.

Predicting Caedin pulls a Sean Jones and stays with the team this year, plays very little (< 7 min/game), gets his MU degree (I'm under the impression Sean did graduate), and transfers out next year.  We fill his spot next year with another 1 yr senior rental post player.

Your hypothesis is the most sensible guess or it could be Shaka doesn't care about winning.  I'll probably go with that

Good for Blackwell.  Wasn't going to see the floor at UW-Madison and he can go to a place that won't require rigorous academic requirements like Agricultural Journalism.

I'm certainly not obsessed about it, but walk ons are affectionately known as human victory cigars.  Sometimes in the rare case blowout loss mop-up minutes.

Despite all the downplaying of their playing time, that certainly wasn't the roll for Hamilton (even at the end of the year), and not really for Clark either (although, it was closer). 

Do I project that next year?  No.  But I still think Hamilton could be first off the bench to replace Fru, which, if true, is sorta a problem.

Anyhow, Shaka has done well to replace 2 who left.  I'd still prefer a little more experienced talent on the roster, but I don't think he opened up enough spots to achieve that.

There is a cost to keeping both Hamilton and Clark.

I'm ok with the cost (e.g. missing out on one of the 4 Top 50 recruits we are after who would likely only commit here in a scenario where they would reclassify this summer). Shaka committed to these guys and they should have the opportunity to graduate from MU. Caedin won the academic award at the banquet, so the degree at least means something to him. Going forward though, I would prefer these commitments are to guys who at least have one other D1 offer. Preferably one other high major offer, but that is probably asking too much.

Caedin and Josh are at MU because they wants to be.  Their decision.  Zaide, Tre, and Sean made the decision to leave.  Their decision.

Look, I'm not saying Hamilton is necessarily going to be playing meaningful minutes by the end of the season. But if he's playing non garbage time minutes against Michigan or Missouri in November, that's a problem.

MU has one open scholarship. They have to decide whether to try to pursue someone in the portal or bank it. The decision to keep both Hamilton and Clark limits that decision to an either/or. That isn't a hypothetical. If Shaka keeps both it means he believes it's worth the cost and not that there is no cost.

Unless a reclass is an actual possibility it's a hypothetical.
