If that portal site is accurate in its NIL numbers, and the report that Fru is wanting 3m is accurate.... Thats 80% of the total NIL Marquette spent last season.

Here's the thing. It's not accurate.

How?
The portal is NOT closed.

Well, I am assuming word will eventually get out. But maybe not.

Ian now following Fru.........

If Fru shows up, can not see holding on to the two stiffs they have!  And pay them even a penny is ridiculous

For anyone interested, here is Louisville's thread on Fru leaving.

Could just be speculation but someone posted 13 min ago, "Fru to Marquette."

Hm, I don't like that thread  :o

QuotePerhaps Fru's personal ceiling is as a 4, but if so he has a lot to learn. More to learn, I think, than as a 5. He had a lot of blocks and, as you say, he was the closest thing we had to a rim protector, but in my mind that makes him a 5 not a 4. He has the quickness to play the 4 on defense, but he would be bullied by many 4s. I wish he were a 4, I really do, but if wishes were horses beggars would ride.

QuoteIt's pretty simple really. He has ZERO offensive skills to play the 5 and a little bit of offensive skills to play the 4. He's better utilized at the 5 on defense.

There were also a ton of comments about being used incorrectly and being poorly coached.  Shaka has a nice track record with bigs like Fru, developing them into NBA bigs, Ill trust him to put Fru in the correct spots.

MuMark

Owens now following him too

BCHoopster

He can play the pick and roll which was a great O with Tyler and Oso. I am sure Shaka showed him how he can used at MU.  Then Sheek and FRU can play the 4 when Royce needs a break.

panda

He'll be a perfect fit if he can move confidently and competently in P&R action/catch the ball from James.

Even more the reason why 18 drove me insane. It's so hard to play as poorly as he did with such a guy like James who can get into the paint so well.

Honestly, this sounds great to me. A rim protecting 5 who's athletic enough to guard on the perimeter? Absolutely nails what we most need on the roster.

Plus a spurned fanbase.

Seriously though, Evan Miya has him ranked the 4th best transfer in the country, above guys like Blackwell and Momcilovic. That's All American level.

Need to land him, but this is the type of addition that should let everyone know Marquette is serious about competing at a high level.

Yeah maybe I'm glass-half-full but I saw WAY more posts saying how they wish he was staying and how Kelsey didn't utilize him properly.

Watching his highlights he wasn't asked to do literally anything but lobs and dunks, so I feel like a coach as good with bigs as Shaka can get way more out of him.

The Thing

MU Fast Break posted that Fru is coming to MU. Is it legit?

Word is he is leaving because there are no good German restaurants near campus. Wiener Schnitzel means more to him than money

I'm taking this comment from the Louisville thread as a joke, but funnily enough, Milwaukee is known as the German Athens of America...

MuMark

Rim protector.......took almost as many 2 point shots as Royce and made 78% of them.........62 dunks......our highest total this year was Royce with 23.

Ok he's probably not going to be Shaq but if we get him we just got a lot better.

Ps He even made 4 out of 8 3 pointers........I'm not going too make much of that but at least it's something to consider.

It would be nice if the patient waiting turned out to be Fru-tful.

Would be a nice guy for Sheek to go up against in practice everyday, too. Iron sharpens iron.
