Kam and Jop combine for 6 for 21 from the floor and 2 for 12 from 3. Hard to win when they play that poorly. Lowery has more rebounds than the two of them combined. Starters were never competitive in this game and they dug a huge hole.

MU is out of the conference title picture now so maybe they relax. Who knows?

Quote from: JakeBarnes on February 21, 2025, 07:56:13 PMIt's not the uniform. It's not the refs. It's a lack of leadership at all levels. I used to think it was the team playing timid, but it really just looks like our seniors are cool with just coasting. Sadly, the only one that isn't cool with it is Jop--but he's in the biggest slump of his career.

It's an absolute mess right now. And buck stops with Shaka. Need to make hard choices and light fires.

You really think Stevie is content and coasting?
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Quote from: CountryRoads on February 21, 2025, 07:55:54 PMOur upperclassmen just completely hit the wall. Damn. Other teams upperclassmen are peaking at this time. Bad sign when the young guys have the most bounce. Guess it's a good sign for next year.
The past month has made me much more optimistic about the future... and a lot more pessimistic about the present.

Am blaming loss on the choice of Kam for SOTG last game lol

I think stevie is not healthy. And it shows on defense.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

This is one of the worst offenses in the country right now. Can't break 70 to anyone other than a 6-18 team. Just hard to believe

Does anybody think Hamilton can play?

The last two months should end the "Shaka can do no wrong" phase, or at least it has for me. I still really like him, but the warts in his coaching are starting to show.

He has no counter when the doubles/traps get beat. No containment defense he can go to if he doesn't want to zone. He got outcoached by Kyle fucking Neptune who had his guys ready for the doubles and absolutely exposed them. They had an eFG of almost 85% in the first half!

And I know no one wants to hear it, but the roster construction is flawed, and if he won't adjust his approach, shits gonna go downhill fast.

Stevie hurt or benched? Did he even play 10 mins tonight?

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Feels like this is an overreaction.

I agree completely. But that is very different than "our seniors are cool with just coasting".

He's been dealing with Achilles issues all season on both legs. It's clear he's struggling to keep guys in front of him right now. I'm kinda for shutting him down for a few weeks and getting healthy.

Stevie came out to start the 2h and got lost a screen and flew by on a pump fake to start the half. That's not health. He's been brutal and Shaka knows it.

Fair. Kam is coasting. Stevie isn't health enough to play. And Jop wants to do everything but can't execute.

I was overly general. There is my assesmenmt

If you think Stevie Mitchell is coasting then you've had your head up your ass for four years.

I've clarified my point in a later post. Kam is coasting/disengaged. Stevie has no lower body. And Jop is super broken and playing forced as a result.

Saw that after I posted, Jake. I usually like your stuff so I was surprised. Nobody works harder or wants to win more than Stevie. It's hard to see him go out like this.
