Quote from: MU82 on November 13, 2025, 03:28:00 PMThanks for the info. There really shouldn't be anything wrong with a lane-duck year, but if that's how they feel I guess it will be good for Packers fans to know what's what sooner than later.

Here is his quote:

"I'm generally opposed — I'd never say never — [but] I'm generally opposed to a coach or GM going into the last year of their contract," Policy explained. "That creates a lot of issues. I think normally you have a pretty good idea of where that relationship is going when you have two years left — not always, but normally.

"So I think generally speaking I would avoid 'lame-duck' status. It's oftentimes difficult on everybody involved. But there are certain situations that probably call for it, so I would not say never."
"I am one of those who think the best friend of a nation is he who most faithfully rebukes her for her sins—and he her worst enemy, who, under the specious and popular garb of patriotism, seeks to excuse, palliate, and defend them" - Frederick Douglass

So jot for sure, but probably. Thanks for the quote.

With that lineup they rolled out tonight, I'm not sure how anyone could tell.

They won their previous two, and they seemed to play hard against the Pats from the little bit of the game I saw. No?

I mean that Browns game was just weird.  They had 170 yards of offense but Browns out-dysfunctioned and handed them the game.

They played hard at points, but it was a very winnable game, shockingly, in the 4th and it was just going through the motions.  The final drive of the game, where they turned it over on downs inside the red zone down 13 and would have been down 6 with 2 min and timeouts left if they had scored, felt like one of those "going through the motions" drives you see late in a game with a team down 20+.

The team roster was terrible but they also just looked uninspired and the Pats matched that to an extent

No. Was bad enough that Jets front office had Bezos shoot him into space.

Ok. I didn't see a team going through the motions. I saw a sh!t team win two straight and then hang in there against a far superior team. But perceptions can be different.

That's fair.  And to be honest, I think part of the perception was that a lot of the last 2-3 drives in the 4th felt like "lets just be here and hope Fields does something crazy" but that could also be an absolute function of how bad they are.  Throwing to 2 WRs that have a combined 60 catches over the last 2 seasons and 2 backup TEs.

Poor Breece Hall.  He should be the bell cow on a SB push for the Chiefs and instead he's wasting another year of the fleeting RB prime on one of the worst offenses in the league.
