You pulled the "you must not be an athlete" less than 30 minutes after the game ended?

Too easy.

Anyway, they lost because Dayton out played them. It happens. Learn and move on.
I'll take that as a "no". It fits too well with your dedication to being perceived as logical. But that was easy to see through in your depressing and predictable "I was just trolling, bro!" bit in the Iowa St. thread.

No one with any bball acumen needed to watch this game after the under 8 TV time out and it was foreshadowed before with the inbounding problems, easy steals, getting burned on easy in bounds, etc. It was obvious and decided by the under 8 TO.

Quote from: The Hippie Satan of Hyperbole on December 14, 2024, 08:27:53 PMYeah Tre was really out of place out there. Just too fast for him tonight.

Tre has been disappointing. Certainly not giving up on him but we'll see how things play out.

Quote from: MuggsyB on December 14, 2024, 08:26:33 PMAlso, obviously JTY isn't ready.  Because this is exactly the kind of game we could have used his ability to break pressure and stop the ball.

Very good point.  Healthy Sean would have been huge in this game.

Which is an automatic  win.. barring a fluke like last year. not worried about it.

IMO, rebounding was the negative domino that led to all of the rest of the negative energy.

Everyone knows it wasn't the refs, it was the black uniforms.

When Sean comes back, Norman's minutes will evaporate like a puddle on a hot summer day.

Great. So your response to my post makes absolutely no sense.

Are you still doing this?

Notice how pretty much everyone agrees with me that this was a flat out loss? And your blame the refs nonsense isn't being echoed by anyone?

Take the L.

Learn the game.

Or just read my posts and gain enlightenment.

100% agree. I can't count the number of times we forced a miss only to have them grab an easy rebound for an easy basket. Seeing that over and over was frustrating for me, so I imagine it was even more mentally impactful for the team.

Uh the comment is going 1-3 in this game and the next three is a disaster... I'm assuming a home win to a trash butler.. what are you disagreeing with?

If, not when.

Honestly this must have been how Purdue fans felt watching our second half against them.

The guys were just flat and definitely could have played better.  Chase was the only one with consistent effort the whole game.  Jop is easier to defend than a 55 year old in rec specs and knee braces.  Just run him off the 3 point line and he'll do one of his aimless drives to nowhere.  Nice to see Lowery back and contributing.

I forget what coach it was - possibly Bobby Knight - who said that every college team will lay an egg once per season, no matter how good they are or could be.  Lets hope this was it for MU.

Dayton had 26 points at halftime.  14 out of their offense, 12 off of second chance points.  They continued to use their offensive rebounding to generate offense and energy until they were the team flying around and MU was the team standing around.

Problem is with the Big East being ass this year, this is the last egg that won't really hurt. Any league loss outside of UConn, St Johns, maybe Creighton will be damaging.

MuggsyB

I also thought Kam forced tonight in the 2H and we didn't get enough quality looks.  Jop was very hesitant for some reason other than that strong o-reb and finish late.  We are at our best when we move the ball and then attack.  I think Kam got frustrated with his fouls, and their contact, but will learn from the this unfortunate experience.

Win the home games and the ones they're supposed to on the road and they'll be a 3 or 4 seed.
VIOLENCE!

Elonsmusk

Once we got taken out of our man defense, the matchup zone we pivoted to limited our aggressiveness, which resulted in Dayton not turning the ball over in the second half.  The zone also challenged our rebounding.

The key to this season will be if Ben can hit that pop 3 at a 40ish percent clip.  His last two in the last minute were good looks and looked good off his hand/on target but neither fell.  He makes either its a tie ball game.

Ya.....I think this is fair.

- Dayton wanted it more. They deserved to win.  We deserved the L.
- Kam needs to be smarter. He has to come out after he got his 3rd and didn't play well when he returned.
- tough game for Stevie.  Not his night.
- While Zaide made some contributions, no one else stepped up. Freshman played like freshman, and Tre didn't help.
- Chase was incredible. Shame we can't enjoy it.

UCONN, St. John's, Villanova, Creighton, Providence, and Xavier would've all been Q1 road games going into today.
